1. Talmadge was out there
debating Tim Eyeman and pushing Democratic issues while
Gregoire was waiting to see what Gary Locke was going to do.

I just want to hear her actually ANSWER a few questions:

Why is it ok to deny same sex couples the right to marry?

Why should the state's employees not be allowed to strike?

Why did she lobby Sen. Murray and Cantwell to vote in favor of Gale Norton?

Just start with those three. I doubt she'll come out from under her platitudes long enough to do that.

2. I think she already won anyway....
This is like comparing Edwards and Kerry. It doesn't really matter because Kerry already won.

4. Not quite the same ... yet
She hasn't won yet.
And now she's gonna have to answer for the investigation thing

But you may be right. And I will gladly support her over Rossi.

Of course, I may have gone home to Texas by then.

6. Rossi.. grrr..
The Pierce County Board of Realtors is having their general membership meeting this month.. they are having Rossi speak at the shindig. But.. they say in their invitation "Come and find out how YOU can help put Rossi in the Governor's Mansion!", I guess he used to be a real estate person? I hate when groups that you're REQUIRED to join to do real estate business, have such partisan events. I was thinking of getting into real estate, but I just can't seem to do it.. I'm going with interior design instead.

7. Yes, he used to be into real estate
if he isn't still. My partner nearly rented an apartment from him in Bellingham. He's glad now that he went with a different place! :D

8. Talmadge
I'd like to see Talmadge running for Governor against Mercer Island's man. Gregoire has had problems overseeing her office. We don't need someone who has to apologize for the people working for her, not to mention someone's who's employees cost the State millions because of ineptness. God knows we have enough of that at the Federal level.

I like Gregoire personally, it's just that her record is not the best. She's open to attack. The opposition wouldn't even have to resort to their usual lies and innuendo. But if she is the one, I'll vote for her and put up a sign. She could never be as inept as the alternative.

I may not agree with Talmadge on every issue but he is down to earth, he listens, he says what he thinks (what a relief that is) and he's experienced. In fact, saying what he thinks just might put him out of the running. It seems as though people don't want to hear a candidate speak the truth.

11. Talmadge speaks the truth
Gregoire mumbles it.

Talmadge takes stands. Gregoire stands on platitudes.

Now she is engaged in her cover up of the cover up . . .

Sound familiar?

If you liked Gary Locke you'll love Christine Gregoire.

12. I think you've got Gregoire's number, ashling
We just don't need another "moderate" as governor. We need a real, true liberal like Talmadge. I can't forgive Gregoire for assuring everyone that Gale Norton would be a reasonable, across the aisle sort of Interior Secretary. She is as bad or worse than James Watt. She said she knew Norton personally as I recall, so that tells me she doesn't have a very good judge of character OR politics.

Talmadge is one of the founders the Committee for a Two Newspaper Town, which I think is so important. He's just got a lot of passion - so does Sims though, and I don't understand why Gregoire is the presumed nominee. She would be my third choice.

Texas, eh? You visiting here or have two residences?
cheers,

s_m

16. We were sick of W for a gov., so we moved up here.
Then they went and appointed him president. We'll be moving home before long. Meanwhile we are determined to remain active in Dem. politics up here.

My daughter reorganized the Young Dems in this county, and we are all very active in local politics.

I am sorry that Phil has had to drop out. Wish him the best and to get his health and his fastball back soon.

14. I was depressed when Talmadge pulled out.
I think he needed "Democracy for America" to front his campaign. Talmadge is kind of like Howard Dean in a way. Both are straight shooters and true blue Democrats. The governor's race will me much poorer without him.

13. Sims and Gregoire are DINOs to me.
I am very sorry that Talmadge had to drop out.I wish him well on his recovery. I do not think I am keen on supporting either Sims or Gregoire. I am kind of hoping a left of center third party or Green Party candidate will make themselves known soon.

I was considering a run for Governor under my old party the Cascadian Nationalists (CNP), but financial problems and other problems got in the way. Maybe I'll run as a Greenie in 2008!

15. I don't think you can say sims is a DINO
I assumed he was a DINO myself, but from what I have read recently I think I was mistaken. He's running on a lot of traditionally democratic issues - favoring a state income tax, increaased healthcare, in favor of gay marriage, increased funding for schools.
