I sure hope so. Get EVERY college kid and 18 year old you can. And get them to the polls BIGTIME.

1. and tell everyone to
verify that their registration is still in place - even if they've voted there for decades! I know people who have been mysteriously dropped off the voter rolls. Do it NOW, so there's time to deal with any problems.

Easy to verify at https://vpa.wi.gov/VoterSearchScreen.aspx?Language=en-us
the GAB website.

Also lots and lots of other good info there, too.

Thanks for the reminder, RB, we need that to be pushed out there constantly, since the republicans are trying to eliminate our same-day registration and enacting photo-id requirements for voting.

5. They are doing the exact same thing with photo ID and eliminating same-day registration in Maine.
Their anti-Democracy agenda is called "TeaRePUKE National."

2. When I signed the petition here in La Crosse to recall Kapanke I was asked if I was registered.
I hope here in Wisconsin that we learned the lesson from last November what happens when you choose not to vote. Here over 600,000 who voted for Obama did not bother to vote here. Walker received 90% of the number of votes that McCain received, so it certainly appears that Republicans voted.

Every election is important and any election can result in dire consequences.

3. Reminder - we can still register at the polls for spring election
Same-day registration rules still apply. We need to remind new voters that they need to bring proof of residency only - which can be someone who can testify you live where you live.

6. Don't let the horrid RePUKES take away your same-day voting rights.

4. how to
When I lived in CA I helped with voter registration. And last week I called the Outagamie County court clerk on how to do it here. She referred me to the Government Accountability Board in Madison. Their phone number is 608-261-2028. The person in charge was off on Friday so I will be calling tomorrow.

I agree with you, RB, it's MOST important that people are registered ahead of time, even though here in WI we have same-day registration (at least for now). Many people who don't routinely vote have no idea where their polling place is, either, and registering ahead of time lets them know. I had a visitor from Finland last fall who happened to be staying with me on election day. She was nonplussed that I had to check the polling place; she said, "Here in Finland, everybody knows to go to the post office."

So, we don't make it easy. IMO, that needs to change too.

7. Hopefully the unions and Dem party apparatus are in full gear. CRUSH them at the ballot box.

8. In January I contacted the GAB
about being reappointed as a registration deputy. They said they'd be coming out with information about that in a few weeks but never did. I suppose it's because the new voter ID bill is in flux and they aren't sure what's going on. Now it's too late for the April 5 election--registrations have to be sent in 20 days ahead. People can still register early at their city hall, and vote early at the same time starting this Tuesday. Let us hope the same-day registration can still be in place when the recall elections come along.
