Web site touts FeingoldUnfazed by a narrow defeat in the November 2004 presidential election, one University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point student already is working to put a Democrat in the White House in 2008.
Matthew Wallock, a junior at UWSP, stoked talks that U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wisconsin) may run for the presidency in 2008 by posting an unofficial campaign Web site called "Russ For President."
Wallock said the site receives an average of 300 visitors a day and has garnered nearly 5,000 hits by Web-surfers since its Feb. 16 debut.
Wallock, an Arts Management major at UWSP and self-taught Web designer, posted the site with some pro bono help from a Green Bay-based Web designer. His intention was to promote nationwide discussion of Feingold as a possible candidate.
