Forgive my ignorance, will Kerry run again in 2008? |
|
 Not unusual in my country for candidates to run again.

Agreed. Too bad, he would have been a great president, I think. |

4. After the concession, I'd tend to agree. |

Running a second time would be rare. Running without the backing of his most enthusiastic supporters simply won't happen.

It's not impossible, but I really doubt he could get anywhere near the same following if he ran again, unless
a) he became a very impressive advocate in the Senate,
b) the electorate is so sick of * by '08 that they'd vote for a bottle of Fanta with a face drawn on it.
As it is, he'll be lucky to hold on to his Senate seat.

7. Nope. Look to Hilary Clinton, Howard Dean and perhaps Barack Obama as VP |
|
Candidate.
Kerry will not run again in '08 because let's face it, he wasn't a strong candidate.

Generally they fade into obscurity when they lose.

Though I'd bet we have to decide what we want to do with Hillary.

But, the news just said Kerry moved his speech up to 2:00. Maybe he won't concede, maybe he's going to announce he's fighting the fraud and fighting to get all the votes counted!
* I can't start a thread for some reason. I wanted to ask about it so picked this thread.

He's no Adlai Stevenson, the last loser of a presidential election to get a second chance to lose. He's no Hubert Humphrey, who easily could have been granted one.
The Democrats have few real stars in the party. Who gets the 2008 nomination will have a lot to do with the course of events in the next four years. It's probably going to somebody we haven't thouhgt of yet.
