Conversation with a Republican
my manager, white protestant evangelical from Iowa, early 30's,
He calls me to ask me if I need any consoling, I told him if he comes around me I'll slap him. Here are some quotes from him not verbatim.
I asked:
1. did you vote because of your morals?
yes, that was a good portion of it,

2. what morals are you referring to:
pro-life, I agree with Bush and his religious view on life and we need a tough guy to stand up to people.
**(lascivious - but he and his wife practice birth control, aren't they preventing a life from being born according to their beleifs?)

3. What about the enviroment?
Oh that does not matter, we are not going to be here forever who cares. We are going to die eventually and go to heaven, I won't be around to see what happens to the enviroment.

I could not stomach any more, I told him I felt sorry for him
He just laughed. What a clueless moron.

16. Fundie = Delusional.
These are mindless evangelicals! They all think they are going to heaven. And "bush is a godly man" (verbatim from a redneck in my red state). If Bush has really won, I can conclusively say that REASON IS DEAD in America. :(

2. Unless it's a barrier form of birth control, it prevents...
a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus.

Thus, from a "pro-life" standpoint, it's as much of a murder as abortion. That's why the extremist anti-choicers (yeah, even extremists have extremists) want to ban all birth control.

So he's a fucking hypocrite.

4. If he think God is gonna be pleased that he did not help care for
the Creation, he is gonna be REALLY surprised when God puts him in purgatory/celectial time-out for a VERY long time to think about what he did.

7. Morals that must include killing 100,000 Iraqis and Afghans
for a lie.

Morals that make it OK to hate 1/10th of the American population.

Morals that approve whole-assedly of corporations getting their way seventy-googolplex-fold.

Shove his morality straight up his ass.

8. If these people are really
and truely against abortion and it comes from their heart, they are wrong to vote for bush. Under Clinton the abortion rate dropped, and under bush it has spiked. Desperate people make desperate choices. So tell your boss he can be as flip and carefree as he wants to be, but he, by voting for bush, will be responsible for many abortions -- not to mention deaths by war and violence.

and now you're going to be in the unemployment line for threatening workplace violence. Don't be surprised if you get to work tomorrow and the security guards refuse you entry.

Do a reply tomorrow if you are still employed.

11. I have a similar story
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 05:31 PM by pelagius
I have a co-worker who is not overly bright, but I thought I had convinced her to vote for Kerry. She came into today (11/3) and announced she supported Bush.

"Why?" I asked her.

"Because my boyfriend told me it would be good for the economy," she said.

"But we talked about this -- remember the budget deficit stuff?" I reminded her.

"Yeah, that's bad," she replied, "But I'm trying to get a new job in environmental clean-up and my boyfriend says that if Bush is made president there will be mandatory oil drilling <sic!> and lots of jobs cleaning up the messes."

I resisted my urge to give her a resounding slap on the side of the head and sighed, "So you voted for Bush yesterday."

"Uh, no... I guess you have to register or something and I didn't!"

"Valerie, we sat right here in this office and filled in your registration. Didn't you drop it in the mail?

"No, my boyfriend said it didn't count because you have to go to the Republican headquarters to register to vote."

This is a thirty-four-year-old women with a college degree. I just can't effing believe it.

the environment and other human beings, rather than your weak-willed need to believe in some glorious afterlife. F*** you.

17. ignorant repugs
Those repugs come up with some ignorant comments. I'd rather have Kerry with no morals as President than Chimp Boy with morals as President. Kerry in 2008!
