1. It's over, my friend.
There is no way Kerry is going to reverse his concession, and no way we can still win this. It's over.

8. Before or after a Plame indictment?
If any b*sh scandal, by some 'miracle," came to light and

some how the media lock were circumvented.

Sounds like big fun.

3. Ok then in our wildest dreams if the OH provisionals give
Kerry the state then he is President.

Christ, that would make Gore v. Bush look like child's play.

6. Just posted a long exploration of this theme
in this thread (of course I'm a bit sleepy from GOTV, but I think it makes sense)

I agree, this is regrouping time and people need to be ready to pitch in.

17. I don't know what "punking" means in this context,
but it appears Kerry's been "punking" me all day too, and I really, really don't appreciate that kind of mind-fuck game.

7. Historically though...
I believe that there is a time in our nation's history when a president won the electoral college vote while losing the popular vote.

Somehow I doubt that will be the case here.

16. Yep,
and your living right in that time, the third one that is. Gore got more votes than Bush in 2000, at least half a million more in the popular vote IIRC. The first one was 1876, Hayes v Tilman then again in 1888, Harrison v Cleveland.

9. Love the enthusiasm...but...
I head a girl on Pacifica radio - an Ohio poll volunteer. She said she and hundreds of other volunteers are DISTRAUGHT in Ohio about Kerry's decision. They were all ready to join togehter to fight this thing. Without an organized ground effort, it is a pipe dream.

21. They eventually counted the Florida votes in 2000.
They found out that Gore won. Nobody gave a damn. Bush was President, case closed. The media buried the story and obfuscated it with a lot of crap about the "four counties" as if that mattered any more. It was strictly an academic footnote, an asterisk as Garry Trudeau called it. Hey, whaddya know. Gore won. Didn't change anything, now did it?

11. What would happen if...
...some of those Electoral College votes bucked the line? Its not out of the realm of possibility. Some state impose fines, but that is about the only punishment for not following state orders. The setting up of a trust fund may be in order to bail out these electoral voters if they buck trend. Please pass this on.

15. No, we post bail
I'm talking about a small fund to pay for legal fees and bail money for people who do that. We only step up AFTER it happens, if at all. This is a protection fund, not a bribe.

20. not binding in terms of the result
but say some blatant, serious, provable fraud is found and the only remedy is to sue. Kerry's concession is a complication in any potential lawsuit in which he might otherwise have legal standing.
