Announcing... 2004 ELECTION WAS STOLEN t-shirt contest
My entry is, a map of the United States with Ohio missing on the front, and an elephant making off with stolen Ohio on the back.

We need an election-was-stolen motto, and we need it on t-shirts and bumper stickers all over America.

10. Great basic idea, but I'm not sure I'd focus on OH.
I realize it has been the most visible, but there are countless stories of vote manipulation and voter suppression in many states. I like the visual of the elephant making off with something though. Unfortunately there are so many ballots it is probably impossible to render a generic ballot to indicate vote stealing.

30. Yes, I created it...BUT
used images from the company websites, the elephant is from MS Clipart Gallert and the Map of the US is from an educational site. I have no idea what the copyright implications are after I added the equation, bars and text.

I picked that elephant because of the flag and thought the innocent look was perfect given their protestations of uninvolvement. But an enraged bull elephant would probably work well with their indignation too.

Right.

WHO COUNTED THE VOTE IN 2004?
Two companies run by major Bush donors.

HOW DID THEY COUNT THE VOTE?
With secret, proprietary computer code.

ARE YOU SURPRISED AT THE RESULT?
(You shouldn't be.)

Note: Why not use the T-shirt to give the public some factual information, since they won't get it from the news monopolies? The facts are compelling.

22. Check this for ideas:
The background story is as follows: during the Bush campaign, the website for the Bush-Cheney campaign - the real one, paid for by MBNA America and Richard Scaife - featured a "create your own banner" tool, where you could enter your own slogan and print out your own poster, with the Bush-Cheney logo, and a note at the bottom "paid for by Bush-Cheney '04, Inc."

Democrats, of course, couldn't get enough of this. The original
Sloganator accepted everything, then it started censoring profanity and
words like "dictator," and "evil." Nevertheless, many clever folks
exploited the sloganator to their own ends before its sad demise only a
couple of weeks after its birth, and its mourners assembled some of the best
for the slide show.

The link below is best enjoyed with the sound on:

I'm so sorry I missed that when it first started. Damn those are good.

<Ruminating as an aside here>
Hmmmm....incorporating the Bush-Cheney logo. Wonder if that would make people gloss over and assume its an idiot still wearing typical campaign stuff or if people would actually stop and read the message. Could go either way. Can we use the Bush-Cheney logo legally or is it copyrighted by the campaign?

45. Go to google and then look at the tabs above the
text box. I believe it is the second one from the left. Google allows you to search specifically for images. You can even do an advanced image search that allows for narrowing the request to small, medium or large images.

On Front

GOT DEMOCRACY?

--

On Back

What’s more important to you...

The fact that we can order hamburgers
almost without incident throughout the country
from the same franchise on any given day...

Or the fact that on election day
the machines in charge of keeping our votes

broke down, recorded thousands
of overvotes for Bush, switched votes from Kerry
to Bush, and lost thousands of votes
, and that

one of the machine companies responsible
pledged a win for Bush (and just happens to
make most of the ATM machines in the country).

You want fries and a cola with that?

55. If we all wore t-shirts saying "Kerry Won" this summer...
...it would get a strong message across, and at least start a conversation that might lead to the truth.

So many people must know what really happened in 2004, and if they each confided in just one or two people...

Are Repubs really that discreet?

Leaflets, Glow in the dark baseball caps, and cards you can hand out wherever you want that show "stolenelectionfraud2004" and put uscountvotes.org or some other big time election fraud website on the front.

Then even at night, people will go searching and looking to find out what is going on. They will begin to come to face the truth of the stolen elections, and start making their own decals and labels to spread.

86. It will get a lot more eyeballs than Tshirts, you can't expect people to
wear a Tshirt and walk around all day. Some of my guerilla marketing BushCheated flyers I glued to bus stop shelters, grocery cart corrals and phome booths were "stuck" for up to 1-2 months at a time. They are a hell of a lot cheaper than Tshirts. They print 2 to a page and you can do either B&W or color.

The graffiti on this bus stop shelter apperaed after I glued the BushCheated. This one was in place for amonth before the graffiti sweeper got to it.

This stop sign lasted for 2 months, probaly because it was difficult to reach.

93. You can also put it on the back of...
..Business cards. Its so easy to get the word out, without getting into a fight if you know what you're doing.

Putting the address of your website on things like that, people will just automatically see it whenever they check. Good work.

Several new coins, dollar bills, and 2 dollar bills have been made in the U.S. One of them was due to a mistake on the back of the original quarter.

On front
Got Democracy?

On Back
Democracy. de·moc·ra·cy n. pl. de·moc·ra·cies

1. Government by the people, exercised either directly or through elected representatives.
2. A political or social unit that has such a government.
3. The common people, considered as the primary source of political power.
4. Majority rule.
5. The principles of social equality and respect for the individual within a community.

Over 95% of Voting anomolies were in favor of Bush. Many instances of Machines switching Kerry Votes to Bush. Machines losing data. Ballots misplaced. Registrations Purged. Machine misallocation led to lines longer than 2 hours.

Who Counted Our Votes?

Majority of votes tallied by two companies, both who support the Republican Party.

Who Certified Ohio’s Votes?

A Secretary of State who was the co-chair of the Bush/Cheney re-election committee (just like Katherine Harris in 2000).

Who Determines how our elections go next time?

US. Stand Up For Your Rights! Stand up for Democracy!

***

ALTERNATE: Instead of "Got Democracy?" on Front -- put definition on front, and more questions on back...

(ignore the gaps between question and answer...don't know how to get rid of them with code. -- also...the definition part should be seen as smaller)

As with any basic advertising method, you should Keep It Simple and Stupid. Any hint of partisanship can end up with the reader mentally blocking your message.

The domain name is just an example. I'm not sure if it exists.

66. Show some Revolutionary War Veterans at Boston Harbor
Edited on Mon Apr-18-05 11:31 AM by Bill Bored
throwing some DREs into the water. Research it to get the name of the actual ship or whatever that was the target of the original tea party.

The caption says:

"2004 Election Fraud = Taxation Without Representation!"

Make it look REAL patriotic. The Flag needs to be shown with all 50 Stars, and some reference to Bush, such as his mug, and an image of the White House. Also show the Constitution or Declaration of Indep. if you can squeeze it in.

On the back: "The US Pro-democracy movement wants YOU!" With Uncle Same pointing his finger at you of course.

I'm not much of an artist but I see it as a kind of collage thing on the front with Uncle Sam on the back. I think Brad Friedman came up with "US Pro-democracy Movement."

One of the ships was called Dartmouth. Maybe it could be called Diebold??? ;)

99. I feel uneasy about the republican part. Chuck Herrin is a republican and
is one of our staunchest allies in this fight. My best friend from college is a republican (listens to Faux and Rush) but is open to me giving her Chuck Herrin stuff since he is a repub, and is starting to question her party and seriously question the legitimacy of this election. We need all the allies we can get in this fight. There are a number of repubs who post on DU, who are very upset over the hijacking of their party. It's a small group of thieves we are dealing with here, not rank and file repubs.
