Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner is in no hurry to settle 20 voting-related lawsuits against the office - if their resolutions involve a payout.

"I want to settle these suits, but if it involves attorney fees, we are going to take our time because I don't want to bleed any more money out of the budget before June 30," Brunner told Plain Dealer editors and reporters Wednesday.

Brunner said that when she took over the office in January, nearly 70 percent of her budget had been spent with six months left in her fiscal year. Her office faces lawsuits related to election laws and regulations surrounding the 2004 and 2006 elections.

Brunner said lawsuit settlements come directly out the office's budget....

2. You, got that right
I am waiting for the defense, it's too close to the current election and we have to use
our funds for this year's election. We shouldn't look back but forward, meanwhile,
it's the voting machines with their copyrighted software that keep forgetting democratic
votes.
