What on earth can possibly prove that Cameron's crypt was Jesus of Nazareth's? |
|
This is for all of you who are waiting with bated breath to see if "the Christian world is rocked" by this hypothetical proof. Where could it possibly come from?

C'mon, didn't you read The DaVinci Code?
Hey, that Sofie was pretty cute. She'd give a cheek swab, I'll bet. Or several other members of the Priory.

I don't catch your intriguing reference.
Could you be a little clearer? What work of Orwell's are you referring to? And to what point?
And I've read The DaVinci Code twice, my kid and I are obsessed with it.
Pray tell.

10. There's no way that anything can ever be proven to anyone's satisfaction in such a case. |
|
Really, it's a claim which can never be proven. What are you going to do, look for a DNA match from a descendent? Even if you had the means to find one, the people who believe don't accept the premise.
Personally, I would think that the message is the important thing, not whether or not the messenger died and came back to life three days later. Martin Luther King Jr.'s words aren't less true because he's dead. Yet Jesus being a man who died would completely destroy Christianity?

14. Some people who have faith that Jesus was a man will certainly have faith that these are his bones. |
|
Edited on Tue Feb-27-07 07:35 AM by BurtWorm
Those who believe Jesus wasn't a man and those who believe he was literally God will almost certainly never be convinced that these are his bones.
PS: The upshot is that this "discovery" will ultimately have little effect on the course of Christianity's future.

when the box with James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus box was found no further evidence was required by Christians (including a few on this forum). That proved Jesus beyond any doubt. Of course we now know it was a fraud.
Now that we have 10 boxes and names that match the same people are convinced that it has to be a coincidence.
From that I would say that, for Christians, no amount of evidence, or lack thereof, will have any effect.
The problem as I see it is that if it is true then there are several details that contradict the Bible so how can we then use Bible details to confirm the parts that match?

The only people who think this is true are those who like the idea of Jesus as a family man. Which is as much a crock of shit as the idea that Jesus is both God and the Son of God.
