Freakin' Kaz Ishii matches Roger Clemens pitch for pitch and the Mets win 1-0 in 11 innings on a RBI single by Jose Reyes.
My Mets... DU's Mets, are now 3-5 after starting the year 0-5.
We're coming back, baby!

1. As much as I liked Jason Phillips |
|
Ishii was a huge pickup for us. If he pitches consistently good, thats one less thing we have to worry about. Awesome job by the bullpen as well. Go Mets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6. you just don't know kaz ishii. |
|
he'll give up 6 runs on 4 hits and 6 BB in 3 innings in his next start.
strange, I do recall that he always did well against randy johnson when RJ played for arizona. maybe he gets up for big pitching matchups, and then blows chunks most of the rest of the time.
don't get me wrong, I do hope he does well for you . . . but I'm afraid I know better.
phillips' stats are a meager .231/.250/.346, but he also has 6 RBIs so far.
We're happy, and you're apparently happy. that makes it a good trade.

on account that I had to attend a Yankees/Sox game last night.
I would have passed up the hatefest to watch that game. I am disgusted with the behavior of Red Sox fans and it's getting progressivly worse. Sitting in those stands is nothing but listening to homophobic vitriol getting tossed at the opposing team.
It reminds of when Jackie Robinson broke into the league and had to contend with racial slurs. I am disgusted that MLB allows that at their games and little kids have to grow up surronded by it. I have no problem with heckeling players but the bigoted homphoboc activites have to stop.
I have attended many Yankees and Mets games over the years and never have I experienced anything on the level that I did last night. I also grew up a die Hard Islnders fan and I never had to sit through the homophobic BS at an Islanders Rangers game like I did last night.
Absolutely disgusting!!!!!
It's gotten so bad that they are also making T-Shirts with homophobic slurs directed at the players. Red Sox fans have now become the lowest of the low amongst sports fans. I would encourage all decent Red Sox fans to stand up to these assholes and give them "what for".
These people make this city look bad.
