I don't know if anyone is around but I thought I'd start a thread for Draft chatter. Feel free to praise or lament your team's picks and offer other impressions.
I kinda feel like the Niners do NOT want to take Smith if they can't trade the pick.

But Saban got a pretty good look at him at LSU and he is like 6 ft 225 pounds. That's not terribly small.
The Browns aren't going to trade away this pick are they? They have to take Edwards here.
This is too high to take Rodgers.

...6'1" & 230+ is plenty big to tote the rock in the NFL. Especially if you have this guy's skills.
There's a huge contingent of Auburn fans out there who felt Ronnie got the short shrift over the last few years. I've heard it said his greater involvement in the offense was the catalyst that took pressure off Campbell and lifted the Tigers to an undefeated season.
He very well might be the best athlete to play running back at Auburn since Bo. The guy's got it all.

Draft best available player, WR Braylon Edwards. The teams who needed a receiver obviously think they can wait for Mike Williams or Mark Clayton.

Two of the big 3 running backs are gone. When Carnell Williams drops we might finally see some trade activity on Shawn Alexander or Edgerrin James.
4 picks and no defensive players selected. I doubt Tampa Bay is going that way either. LB Derrick Johnson should be the first defensive guy picked. He's dynamite.

They need to stay put at nine and keep their picks. Damned Snyder gets too hyper.
At 9, there should still be either Mike Williams, Pac Man Jones, or Rolle left. Any one will do well.
No reason to trade up now.

The Bucs had just as big a need at WR and Mike Williams would have been better value, IMO.

82. Roddy White would be a project as well |

They needed a qb and got the guy they wanted. The only idiotic thing about it is that they traded too much to get the pick.

83. I wouldn't be suprised if they offer Rod Gardner for 2nd round bait |
|
There aren't many receivers left in free agency, he was picked in the first round. He should be worth a 2nd round pick, he is pretty solid. Sometimes had dropsies, but other times would make some amazing catches.
