Anyone else having trouble deciding who to root for in the World Series? |
|
Granted, the teams aren't set yet, but I'm ticked at Chicago and their gift in game 2. Then again, they haven't won in forever...
Sort of would like to see St. Louis win it all--they have the talent, and even with LaRussa's infamous playoff coaching (or lack thereof) they're gonna win it all one of these years, and I'd rather it be now and then my Red Sox won't have to worry about them next year.
As for the Astros--if they had won last night, I would have said they're gonna beat Chicago, because they seemed to pull it out until Pujos. Then again...I have trouble rooting for anything to do with Texas, other than Molly Ivins.

1. We Texans are to be pitied more than scorned. |
|
The democrats here have been screaming like Noah about the on coming flood. At last some here are beginning to come out of their stupor and realize how manipulated they were.

Clemens--I don't dislike the guy, but 2 rings is enough.

3. You'll be happy to know I have a St. Louis Cardinals towel... |
|
...I think my Mom got it many, many years ago at Marshall's or TJ Max, because it was so damn cheap, and she didn't really care about team loyalty. It's a beach towel--still in good shape.

American League all the way.
And yes, I'd be rooting for the Angels or Yankees if they'd made it.

the least they can do is ask, make a public statement. Do you really think Bud Selig would punish them for it? The Sox rode Joe Jackson out of town on a rail, and have never apologised for their role. Ergo, I cannot support them.

9. Geez, you'd think this would be a no-brainer for most DUers... |
|
Houston gave us the Bushes, DeLay, Enron...
I'm having no trouble at all rooting for the Sox. And the people involved in the Black Sox scandal have been dead for decades...let it go, people!!!

but if that's how you interpret my message, there's nothing I can do about it.
After all, it's just baseball.

This has nothing to do with sports. That said if you dislike the Astros for other than political reasons I have no beef with you.

14. UMM can they both lose? |
|
Can I root for the umpires?
I wished for an Angels Cardinals series.
Having said that, I will be rooting for the Astros, except for the days Clemens is pitching, then I will be rooting for a no decision for Roger Rabbit.

There was no gift.
And any Red Sox fan who doesn't root for the White Sox should turn in his or her Red Sox fan membership badge immediately, for you no longer deserve it.
