1. I kept saying to myself, "where the hell is Pete Rose?"
I guess he deserves the spot he got in there.

2. They left out Charles Comiskey
He brought on the Black Sox Scandle himself. Cicotte wouldn't have done it if Commie would have allowed him to get his bonus.

And while I'm mentioning owners, where is *? He cheated the city of Arlington into making him rich at taxpayers' expense.

5. Not a player, but one prominent name is missing
Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis. He steadfastly refused to let any Blacks into MLB, despite the greatness of the Negro League brand of baseball. Satchel Paige, Cool Papa Bell, Josh Gibson, Buck O'Neil, and many many other great players were left out primarily because of a bigoted commissioner. It took his death to even allow Branch Rickey to consider bringing a balck man aboard. The Dodgers never won a WS championship until Robinson got there, so it must not have been a bad idea.

7. Why Cicotte and Williams?
They were just participants. Chick Gandil engineered the "Black Sox" scandal through his connection with professional gambler Sport Sullivan.

Why Kekich and Peterson? Their wife-swapping harmed no one except baseball's poorly hidden reputation for purity.

And why Mantle? Ballplayers have been drinking and carousing since the game was introduced in America. Asa Brainerd, the ace of the Cincinnati Red Stockings, was well-known as a hell-raiser.
