is fine and not in conflict with a prochoice position. Lacey was in her 8th month and the baby was more than viable. The key to convicting someone of murdering an unborn child is intent. They have to be purposefully trying to kill the child and the mother. I don't see how this is in conflict with being prochoice.

Show me the kid's birth certificate. Social security number. Show me that it ever drew a breath on its own.

This verdict stinks, and so does the notion that a fetus is a baby.

How it is in conflict with being pro-choice is that the door is open to calling any stage of development of a fetus a "baby," and the anti-choice people can point to this case and say "Well, see, there was no actual birth, but, still, it was a person."

It's not a person until it's born. As for "viable," how do you know that?

I am not a lawyer, a doctor, and generally view your profession with some hostility. Though I worked though that with Edwards, his choice for VP had members of my profession fuming. Needless to say, as a person of conscience I weighed the greater good against one small selfish feeling.

To the point. I agree, the unborn child murder charge is a problem. Pro-choice people should be hitting the wall with this. Ever wonder why Fox News played so much about this trial. It will definitely be a launching point to repeal reproductive rights.

As for his guilt. What about circumstantial evidence. I must admit I did not follow the trial closely. At what point does circumstantial evidence become convincing? I also wonder how he got such a high powered lawyer, his family is not rich, he is a blue collar guy, no?
If he were a poor African American charged with killing a non-pregnant wife, we would never hear of it. Is that fair?
