1. That was a sweet video
Were the scenes from a TV show? I only watch Law & Order and Judge Judy, so I have no clue.

If people saw these as people in love, people who cared about each other, what does it matter that they are of the same gender?

4. ROFL!
That was exactly my first thought when I opened this thread! They weren't *officially* a gay couple...but we know they were. :)

7. Michael and Ben had very good chemistry...Currently I love Luke and Noah....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKAVBt_HWGE

Luke Snyder and Noah Mayer are fictional characters and a supercouple from the American CBS daytime drama As The World Turns.<1> Luke is portrayed by Van Hansis, and Noah is portrayed by Jake Silbermann. On internet message boards, the couple is referred to by the portmanteaus "Loah" (for Luke and Noah) and "Nuke" (for Noah and Luke). They are notable for being one of American daytime television's first gay male couples.

The two made history on August 17, 2007, when the show "featured the first-ever" gay male kiss in American daytime history.<2> The YouTube video of the kiss was one of the top-watched the following day. The now legendary kiss stands as one of the most viewed selections in the history of YouTube with over 1 million hits.<3>

In other press, the two were named one of television's top power couples by TV Guide<4> and one of the great supercouples by Entertainment Weekly.<5>

8. Cool!
One of my guilty secrets is that I have been watching ATWT since it began and I was a small child at my mother's knee. I promised both my mother and my grandmother that I would keep up with the "story" after they died so I have...I probably would have anyway.

I think the story with Luke and Noah is being done very well. I was not certain what the deal was with Amera (Emera?) but I think the point is being made once again that you can't be changed, we are all what we are and I appreciate that they are taking that on. I think the kissing scenes of late have been kind of stilted. I don't know if it is the actors (are either or both of them gay? Not that that really matters since they both have taken these characters on fully) or the directors/writers trying to be careful not to jump too far all at once (they should jump I think). Still, it has become a major story line and it is being handled just like the hetero love stories. It is very sweet. I always get that gooey feeling when they are together and it makes me smile.

9. Its going to be a tough storyline.....I doubt they'll bring in more gay characters
Edited on Sat May-03-08 02:35 PM by Rowdyboy
at this point so either guy cheating is difficult to plot. I'm interested to see what directions the writers take. Not sure if either of the actors are actually gay but both characters are convincing to me, especiially Luke.

I actually started watching the show on a treadmill tv at the gym. I was listening to my radio when I saw a sexy teenage boy giving another sexy teenage boy a decidedly longing, hungry look (it was Luke and Casey). It caught my attention because he captured exactly how I felt at 17 in his eyes. He's quite a talented young actor. Anyway, that got my attention and I started following their storyline. He hadn't even admitted to himself he was gay. Naturally one thing led to another and now I tape the damn show and watch it over breakfast most days.

I don't particularly care for the whole "Ameera" storyline. Wish they hadn't gone there but hopefully it won't drag on too long. Luke's already been paralysed so they can't drag out that old plotline again. I just hope neither of them wind up drunkenly impregnating some girl after a fight.

19. That episode had A LOT going on.
By the time of the proposal, we were a sobbing mess.

Next week will probably send us over the edge.

Love this show. I could watch Sally Field all day long.

21. I started watching it
because of the cast, realized it was just a big soap opera (not a problem for me) but a SO with a huge, great cast then I fell in love with the Kevin/Scotty thing. I am so happy to see this relationship, and others, with such a high profile. Anyone and I mean ANYONE who believes in the power and wonder of love could not watch this and be anything but happy. They are just as tender and loving as any hetero relationship has ever been portrayed on TV (HA! to the naysayers and phobes out there) and the show is not shying away from the passion. If only because of this I will watch that show as long as it is on. To me, a little straight midwestern woman, this is the best gay relationship I have seen on TV. There have probably been others that I have missed (have there?) but this one is just wonderful. I also like Luke/Noah but this adult relationship on B&S is lovely.

The whole show is wonderful. Yes, next week I will be a sobbing mess along with you. Funny thing, I HATE weddings but this one will make me weepy :).
