Perez Hilton.
I find this man to be a disgusting part of our community. He gloats about outing celebrities and his blog is nasty. I think our community should vote on if we should trade him for Brittany Spears. I will be the first to vote yes.

2. If he put that kind of effort into outing closeted politicians who vote for anti-gay measures
I'd have less of a problem with it.

18. Reminds Me Of Something I Heard on Best Week Ever When Neal Patrick Harris Was Outed.
Comedian Paul F. Tompkins: "This guy spends all his time outing celebrities he thinks don't have a right to be in the closet. Politicians...not so much. But Doogie Howser must be brought to justice!"

5. Perez is no more disgusting than Pat Robertson, John Hagee, George W. Bush, etc.
While I don't support outing people, I also have a problem with celebrities who take advantage of the closet when the rest of us are fighting just to be safe from anti-gay violence in our schools and homes. Perez is like the blog version of a radio "shock jock," basically harmless and a sympton of the celebritization of our culture.

It usually has nothing to do with what's being posted. Most posted pics have relevance to the text of the post.

Mind if I ask why you use it in every post?

14. Sorry about that.
I recommend washing your hands with bleach. :)

As for trading for Brittany Spears, I have friends who are lesbians and I wouldn't want to inflict Brittany on them.

16. I don't particularly care for him.
I tend to shy away from the culture of celebrity worship anyway, and since he is a part of that, I generally have no use for him. Not only that, but I find his personality annoying.

And I will never forgive him for burning that picture of a completely nude Danny Bonaduce in my mind. :scared:

17. What is the big deal - as to men, every single attractive male celebrity has been the subject
of gay rumors since the beginning of time, and I know, because I was there.

So Perez Hilton says so and so is gay. So what. Yawn. Maybe it's true, maybe not. It won't impact my life either way.

It's not a bad thing to be gay, by the way. I have to confess that I have more respect for Jodie Foster and Neil Patrick Harris now.

If a blogger says you're gay and you want to remain in the closet, just deny it, if asked. What's so hard about that??

19. Because To Some, a Deliberate Lie Is More Shameful Than a Lie of Omission.
Many celebrities - and other closeted people - resent being forced to lie publicly rather than just remaining silent. While I don't have much sympathy for people who make millions and millions of dollars yet still somehow can't afford to come out of the closet, I don't believe ANYONE should be FORCED out, EXCEPT hypocritical Republican politicians. Coming out is a deeply personal decision...a decision that should never be made FOR someone.

20. But how is claiming that someone is gay the act of FORCING someone out of the closet?
I don't get that part. Serious question.

21. It's Forcing Them Out When You Present Evidence That They're Gay
I don't want to get into whether or not the evidence is credible...that's largely a matter of opinion when you're talking about the internet. The fact is, this guy's self-imposed mission is to out celebrities. He's made no secret of it. You can argue that he's harmless because people don't have to believe what he says, but regardless of what you believe, he's trying to out people. I have a problem with that.

Things he'll never have. Scrawling on celebrity photographs and making fun of others is his way of coping. I'd have recommended Paxil, but then I'm not his doctor. Look at his pseudonym; borrowed from another, but higher eschelon, faux-celebrity known for being known instead of being talented. Kind of tells you something right there.

After he attained a degree of notoriety due to his lawsuit and other second-hand reports posted on his blog, I checked it out. The eye assault of that monstrosity on an LCD screen is difficult, even now, to forget. Screaming pink. Clashing colors. Epilepsy-inducing, flashing banner ads. Short-attention span verbal smackdowns posted in telegraph language. An "I hate you--I hate you more" playground snit fit taken to the nth level. It's as if one of the Plastics, the most insecure one who secretly knows that she shouldn't be there and could get kicked out at any moment, is taking her insecurities public with the web 2.0 version of a Walmart commercial.

I wish Perez Hilton the best in his future life as a Pariah. I hope he doesn't feel bad when children point and stare in the supermarket and he keeps getting voicemail when he calls his friends. Schadenfreude gets old after a while, Perez.

25. "A disgusting part of our community." There's something very homophobic about that statement.
How incongruous since it's a gay person saying it. Disgusting is a strong word. Why "I find this man to be a disgusting part of our community." Why not, "I find this man disgusting." Are you so disgusted by him that you are afraid that people will stereotype us all to be like him?
