Edwards Picketed over "gay masters"

Pam Spaulding of Pam's House Blend has obtained a copy of this flyer distributed by Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church, expressing their intent to picket a speech by former vice presidential candidate John Edwards Mar 4.

The Westboro Baptist Church has repeatedly traveled to picket against gay rights and gays, including the funeral of Matthew Shepard, a gay student who was beaten to death in the late 1990s in Laramie, Wyoming. They have also rallied to celebrate Shepard's death and the death of another gay man, Scotty Joe Weaver, who was murdered in Alabama in 2004.

Looks like Phelps is gearing up for another nutcase protest, hopefully this one will get him plastered all over the TV screens where average, everyday Americans have a chance to see just where all this "it's ok to hate gays" attitude promoted by the wingnutz and ShrubCo is leading us, I think the remark about God warning Edwards by killing his son would make alot of normal folks take a hard look at the real issues.

sad to say, but every single day there's something new. When the "moral values voters" got all the credit for the election fraud, the mouthy gay haters (Falwell, Phelps, Dobson, et al) have really come out of the wood work. They think they have a mandate.

Sadly enough, Joe Average who really doesn't hate gays isn't going to see this escalating problem until someone they know, work with or are related to gets killed or hurt.

with signs that say things like "President Bush is a man of God...and he hates gays too!"

Let's see if they put that on TV.

this man is. There are no words to express outrage at the evil of this so called minister and his church.

6. Evil, evil evil man

The gall of this man calling himself a Reverend and pretending- yes, I truly believe, pretending- to believe in God and the Bible at all is outrageous. Celebrating people's murders? If Phelps and his so-called "church" want to wipe out evil in the world, they would do well to start with themselves.
