Fundies bemoan "Love Rocks" album from Human Rights Campaign

Top Music Artists Push Homosexual Agenda

Feature by AFA Journal
March 10, 2005

(AgapePress) - Over 30 music artists spanning a broad spectrum of generations and genres are singing in one accord on a recently released album titled "Love Rocks." Although the two-disk CD set is a compilation of 32 different songs from some of the nation's top names in the music industry, the artists are harmonious in the pro-homosexual message they are voicing.

<snip>

"When two people -- regardless of gender -- long to care for each other, to protect each other, to treasure each other, we should do everything we can to foster that. I'm proud to be part of this album, which does just that."

<snip>

The CD was scheduled for release February 8, just prior to Valentine's Day, by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and the HRC Foundation in partnership with Centaur Entertainment. One hundred percent of the album's net proceeds will go toward HRC's push for "equality." The HRC is the nation's largest "gay," lesbian, bisexual and transgender rights organization

<snip>

"Gay activists are trying to find an argument that carries emotional weight: 'love,' after all, sounds good to everyone," Fryrear said. "... Their definition is meant to mean the acceptance and the celebration of homosexuality."

What it doesn't mention is that an anti-gay gospel singer performs back-up in the Dolly Parton song.

LOVE ROCKS: A Star-Studded Benefit Album to Support Equality

The Dixie Chicks, Melissa Etheridge, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Mandy Moore, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Dido, Carole King, Yoko Ono, Simply Red, Cyndi Lauper, Kimberly Locke & Oleta Adams are only some of the 32 artists that have joined forces to support the Human Rights Campaign and its mission of equality by donating songs of love and inspiration to the HRC's newest benefit album, LOVE ROCKS.

LOVE ROCKS shines a light on the fact that the love and commitment between two people, regardless of sexual orientation, should be treated with dignity, respect and equality. 100% of the net proceeds from the album, co-produced by Centaur Entertainment & HRC, will benefit HRC's work towards equality.

“I contributed to this CD because I believe love rocks. Love comes in all colors. We are rainbows and should all shine with our own true colors. Rock on!” - Dolly Parton

3. Dolly Parton is also a "gay icon" like James Dean and John Wayne
Besides, Dolly has more money than God and can afford to vote her conscience.

Here is what the fundies have to say about Dolly Parton:

IL MEDIA WATCH: Gays and lesbians -- protected by the media

Dolly Parton, another guest on the {Oprah Winfrey} program, told the audience she was also in favor of same-sex marriage. It must be noted, later in the week, Parton appeared on Fox News' Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor," in what may have been an effort to conduct damage control concerning her controversial remarks. Parton told Bill O'Reilly, the host of "The O'Reilly Factor," she shies away from voicing her opinion on political issues because she is just a "patriotic, down home country girl." Parton said she wouldn't want to offend anyone by voicing opinions on controversial subjects because it could affect her record sales.

But since Parton has recently released a CD, her appearance on O'Reilly's show may have been an attempt to deflect criticism related to her remarks on same-sex "marriage" which could affect sales of the album.

Obviously, someone needs to remind Winfrey and Parton there is no such thing as marriage between two women or two men in America. However, Winfrey's tacit endorsement of same-sex union is understandable. Winfrey considers herself a member of the Hollywood entertainment crowd, and if she voiced any thoughts contrary to the pro-gay agenda, she would be on the outside, looking in. After all, during the last few decades, members of the entertainment industry have made a diligent effort to promote the homosexual lifestyle.

That is why stories, like the one I'm about to describe, receive little, if any, attention from the mainstream press, which rarely provides coverage portraying homosexuality in a negative light.

5. Yeah, "love," what an un-Christian and un-American sentiment.
thpllttt, fundies. Longterm this issue's a loser for you. No matter how you try to spin it, ultimately your position ends up making you look hateful. Which you are.

6. I bought a dozen.
One each for my life partner and myself. Then I handed some out to the participants at the PFLAG meeting I help facilitate.

They are for a great cause. HRC is a fabulous organization that does many good things for us.
