Maybe as a kind of protest, GLBT people could boycott films. |

Or any other product produced or important to California's economy?
Kind of like after Virginia passed that disgusting piece of homophobic legislation.
Do other things for entertainment. See live shows, such as on Broadway.

you be boycotting an industry that supported same-sex marriage? You have to go after the churches that organized against it, we need to sit in on sermons, meetings, anything these churches do. We must report every violation to the IRS.

We need to be checking out the churches. As you said, listen to every sermon and those who do so should make sure they can document the violations.

3. Since the Mormon Church funded much of the campaign for Prop 8 |
|
Why not research where their investments are and boycott those industries? Now that's the power of individual choice in capitalism.

4. Serious question: has the IRS EVER revoked a "church"'s tax-exempt status? |
|
Because I think the answer is "no". Or at least not that I'm aware. So I don't know how effective documenting these violations are going to be. They've been violating IRS rules since at least 2004, and nothing has happened.
Anyone know?

7. surely specific "church" locations have lost status, but I'm not sure if any denomination has |
|
but I would hope that something can be done to stop the encroachment of the Mormons who are pushing for harsh views on GLBT, as they THROW people out of their homes/families when they come out - so that says what they'd LIKE to do if they could push further beliefs on society. 30 years ago they were fully anti-black, so there's a ton of h8 in that sick room of Mormon believers... I would hope SCOTUS would rule for rights when this gets to them, anything else is clearly not following equal protection under the law. If worse came to worse - I can accept full rights and all people's "marriage"s being called partnerships, but leaving "marriage" to the church who wishes to marry them - because as someone said, ministers can say people are married, but they have no power to divorce? How is that then (the word 'marriage') a truly important word to the government - it's not, it's just a word that is used to describe the partnership... anyhow, this is very frustrating what the Mormons have deceitfully accomplished --- for now. They will be exposed. And, all of these churches and believers who wish to push their moral view on society have to answer to God for their judgment, that means more to me than anything...

8. Film makers are generally friendly to the LGBT community so I would not target them |
|
I would however target Utah (the Mormon connection) and their tourism trade by erasing them from the gay travel book as a potential vacation destination. If you want to target CA specifically I'd look to things like CA wines and produce which are grown/produced in predominately conservative counties. But my main beef is with Utah Mormons who funneled millions into the CA yes on 8 campaign.
