Feinstein Gets Pink Brick For Anti-Gay Remarks
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/04/040805sfBrick.htm

In Dianne Feinstein's hometown of San Francisco, hard feelings linger about the senator's remark that the push to make marriage legal for same-sex couples hurt Democrats in the November election.

Organizers of the gay pride parade held in the city every June announced Thursday that Feinstein was the winner of this year's "Pink Brick" award, a dubious honor bestowed on the public figure the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Committee decides has done the most to damage the gay rights cause. President Bush and talk show host Laura Schlessinger were the previous winners.

Joey Cain, president of the committee said Feinstein was nominated for the prize for telling reporters the morning after Bush's re-election that progress on the gay marriage front "has been too much, too fast, too soon."

and they picked such a great picture to accompany the article! LOL

2. I am a Californian by choice, an ACLUer, and Democrat
and - I have lived in some Red States (Texas, Louisiana) -- and California may be what we expect of the best in the US -- but California is not typical of the US. I have been a Democratic party precinct level official and worker in Red States. Am I happy to be in California.

Just read "What's the Matter with Kansas? How Conservatives Won the Heart of America" by Thomas Frank---:puke:

A lot of "California" things hurt Kerry - Gay Rights, Reproductive Choice, Medical Marijuana, Interracial dating and marriage, Stem Cell Research (I am a Diabetic - already have elevated blood and urine readings, loss of night vision, numbness and fluid retention in one leg,.... stem cell research derived cures will be too late for me).

Facts are facts. California is hated in the Red States.

Maybe California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia should just secede and form our own country (not a bad idea)---

4. It can never be too much, too fast, or too soon.
At this point in time, after LGBT people have been exploited and delegated to second class citizens for so long America OWES us. As far as I am concerned, we can never ask for too much because the debt America owes to us is one that can never be repaid. People are dying as a result of the bigotry that the country willingly turns a blind eye to. It will never be too much. Things cannot happen fast enough.

The sooner and faster we get equal rights the faster and sooner it'll be over with. Really, if Democrats view us as such a burden they really only have two choices: 1. Stop taking our money and votes. (Not likely to happen.) 2. Get it over with and fight for us, damn it.

I remember when I was younger and I despised having band-aids. I hated taking them off because they always hurt. I'd always pull them off slowly and then my mother would come by and just yank it off. I'd be angry, but she'd say "Why are you going to sit there and complain about it hurting. Just rip it off and get the pain over with. There is no need to make it last longer than it has to." The same applies to this situation. If Democrats want to stop worrying about gay rights then fight for our rights and we'll be satisfied. It'll eventually become a non-issue, but instead they seem to want to drag it out for as long as possible.

10. AMEN
The "Religious Right" has played a large role in driving thousands of gay kids to suicide. They're murderers as far as I'm concerned.

Feinstein would be teaching at some community college somewhere.

6. Oh, to hell with that war-profiteering whore.
She makes money off dead Iraqi children through her husband's weapons contractor stock. Please excuse my utter contempt for the woman.
