Commentary: Discrimination Still Reigns Supreme (Washington State)

(snip) The bottom line though is that Republican members of the State Senate - along with a couple of rogue Democrats - have decided that it's their personal responsibility to keep gays and lesbians under an oppressive thumb.

Basic human decency is only a vague notion to those who won't extend legal protection to people who find themselves discriminated against because of their sexual orientation.

1. the funny thing is
they're already complaining that anti-marriage laws are resulting in the inability to prosecute domestic violence.

Just wait until people start getting fired for being presumed gay (really, what's the proof or anti-proof?).

So, if I don't want to pay someone's retirement or their unemployment, all I have to do is fire them for being gay (or straight), because sexual orientation is not protected.

p.s. Nobody gets this. It's amazing.

3. hmm, someone could drop the dime on a boss they hate, accusing
them of being one of us... wonder how many times that could happen before they caught on?

2. Who are the rogue dems?
We should find people to run against them when re-election comes up. I think it would send a strong message to other Democrats who might be thinking about throwing us overboard. They are either with us or against us, and if they don't toe the line then their asses should get the boot. We shouldn't accept anything less.
