Thanks for all the good wishes, folks... |

Asked my cardiologist last year as to how many more years he would give me and he said "five". After hearing that, i asked if he couldn't do better. He replied that he only gave five year increments to his patients. Playing it safe, i guess. Am seeing him for a check up in a couple of weeks and will see if he can't give a better answer. If not, i will threaten to change MDs. :):) Wishing you all many more good years......z

2. Time for a second opinion. And don't forget to take all your anti-oxidants, vitamins, |
|
and eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies, and keep your weight down, and exercise within your limitations. Too often physicians only offer pills and expensive procedures, and ignore the most important stuff.

YOU GO GIRL
are you exercising? NO EXCUSES - even mobility-challenged folk get wonderful results with mild exercising and stretching like SIT AND BE FIT
I challenge a lot of older folk who weren't brought up on the notion of exercising (because back in the day it wasn't an issue for them, they got it in their daily lives) - but you must keep moving ALL YOUR LIFE!

Sounds interesting. You are so right. Seldom heard the word "exercise" in the olden days. Many thought carrying a bit of weight was a sign of good health. Thanks for the extra ten years.:) A positive attitude really helps.......z

4. I don't mean to minimize this news... |
|
...but this means you may have five years...but you definitely have an excuse (and most people need an excuse) to really LIVE for the next five years.
A doctor has essentially told you that you have nothing to lose...live like you have nothing to lose.
My best wishes.

9. All we can do is make every day count. |
|
I was recently diagnosed with RA. Hurts like hell, mobility is pretty much restricted. What it has taught me is *patience*. With myself and those around me, something I never had before. I've always been in a hurry, one of those "get out of my way" people. I've learned humility, and also to appreciate that which I can still do.
Wishing you multiples of those five years the doc gave you! And throughout those years, I wish you much joy in life.
