Five Killed, 3 Hurt in Wisconsin Hunting Dispute. |
|
"BIRCHWOOD, Wis. - A deer hunter shot and killed five people and injured three others in northwestern Wisconsin following a dispute about a tree stand during the hunt's opening weekend, authorities said.
The 36-year-old alleged gunman, who lives in the Minneapolis area, was arrested Sunday afternoon, Sawyer County sheriff's officials said. Jake Hodgkinson, a deputy at the county jail, identified the suspect as Chai Vang but would give no additional details.
The incident began when two hunters were returning to their rural cabin on private land in Sawyer County when they saw the suspect in one of their hunting platforms in a tree, County Chief Deputy Tim Zeigle said. A confrontation and shooting followed.
It's not known who shot first, Zeigle said".
I won't comment, but I bet the animals watching found this interesting.

After all, these hunters were out to kill innocent beings. Well, the tables were turned on them. And the hunters became the hunted.

'live by the sword, die by the sword' or in this case hunting innocent animals.

5. It's unfortunate that anyone (animal or human) |

has/had his or her life taken in such a fashion. Though I'm glad that there are fewer hunters, I also think that this is going to make a bunch of already trigger-happy drunkards even more so. They'll be popping each other off in record numbers, now.

One more reason I think 'hunters' should only get to use a big knife. If they can track, run down, and kill something with a knife, then they can claim the title hunter. Otherwise, they're mostly just lazy snipers - hiding in a tree and waiting for some animal to wander by - how pathetic is that?
