BBQ broccoli?
I have much ripe broccoli in the garden, and I have people coming for a casual BBQ tonight. What would be a fun summer dish to use up the broccoli? Can you grill it directly? That is what I do with eggplant and squash, but those are still a few months off.

1. Use it for a
broccoli, raisin, onion salad. Would be a fine addition to a bbq. :hi:

3. Great minds think alike!
I found a recipe for a cold broccoli/rice salad that includes red onion and raisins. Yum! Also, I happen to have all the ingredients on hand, which plays a huge part in my decision making process :hi:

2. I've found broccoli to be less successful on the grill
than other veggies. For one thing, the flower buds tend to burn before the stem starts to caramelize.

A better idea would be to blanch it and serve it cold. Or just do a broccoli stir fry, serve it warm and crunchy, maybe with the addition of a little red bell pepper.

4. I figured it would cook unevenly on the grill.
Maybe in a foil packet with some other veggies, then open it up for a few minutes at the end to get some of the smoky grill flavor. Hmmmm....

5. That's my vote
A little sweet potato, green beans, red onion, yum.
