1. I'm jealous
My nearest Trader Joe's is 100 miles away :-(.

2. My local TJ's is less than a mile from my home. There's another one
less than 2 miles from my office.

And when I go to WI at Christmas now, I can get my TJ's fix three blocks from my sister and BIL's house (it's the first TJ's in WI).

3. It's About 3 Miles
Now that I've been in a second time, it's hard not to notice how so much of the produce is packaged - overpackaged. It won't replace WF for me because of that, but it will make a nice supplement.

4. I go there mostly for cheap dairy and eggs, 2 Buck Chuck wines,
and edamame. And chocolate and some frozen convenience foods for dinner when I'm lazy. Oh, and fresh fruit (apples in the bins).

I am leaning away from imported foods except for special occasions, so a lot of their stuff doesn't meet my purchasing criteria anymore.

5. here's what's cheaper
nuts
cheeses

what's on my permanent shopping list at TJ

greek yogurt, no fat in individual containers -- I love the honey and the blueberry

greek yogurt, low fat -- the fig is delicious!

the no-fat cottage cheese is really good

low-sodium Columbus sliced salami -- 40% less salt and tasty

grated parm cheese in a ziplock bag

grated quattro fromaggio in ziplock bag

the curried naan is really good

some of the crackers and snacks are good, but don't get the gorgonzola crackers -- ugh

Smuckers diet cranberry juice (hard to find)
