Microsoft Word Print... Zoom, Scale to Paper Size --> How to get US Index Card 3x5?
I have old three by five inch cards that, unless I am mistaken, I printed using Microsoft Word. They are physical cards so there is no way I could be mistaken about their actual existence. It's possible, but very unlikely that they were not printed using Microsoft Word.

However, I don't see any way to get a three by five inch setting. Is there some other setting that must be changed so that more options for "Scale to Paper Size" will show up?

I'm using an older version of MSWord. It occurred to me that perhaps an automatic update deliberately reduced the functionality of my old version of MSWord and that I should use my original Microsoft Office CD-ROM to get the version of MSWord that I was originally using before any automatic updates could have affected it. Is that a serious possibility or just a semi-paranoid reaction to some of Microsoft's business practices?

1. Somewhere in Options
or maybe tools is a menu for your default unit of measurement. Find it and set it to inches.

Open your document. Go to page setup, on one of the tabs it has paper size. Type in your settings, the drop down box should show custom. If it doesn't, choose custom then type the size in.

Then go back to you doc. With luck you will find it looks set up in the size you chose. Probably need to move mouse down to bottom left side where there are three or four little boxes. Choose the middle one, can't remember what its called off top of head. Maybe layout view or something. Also good it you go into options/tools/options, whatever that complicated tango, find a setting for 'show margins in page layout' or something similar, and turn it on.

Good to be paranoid about MS practices, however with Word they just got too fluffed up with their own importance.

2. Is it possible...
... that I originally experimented and found a three by five setting that didn't actually say "3x5"?

Right now I have access to "Scale to paper size" settings: "A4", "A5", "B5 (JIS)", "Japanese Postcard", "A6", and some other settings that I don't know the meaning of. This is without modifying my default settings in Options, Tools, or Page Setup. Maybe one of them is three inches by five inches so that I don't need to do anything but find out which one to use?

When I did this the first time, nobody helped me and I don't think that I used the Help function in MSWord. I don't recall having any problem, but I had a number of spare cards or cards that were already messed up on one side or partly messed up on both sides, so I might have experimented a bit.
