Copying programs to added hard drive?

Is there a way to copy games and other programs over to an added hard drive from the existing hard drive.

I was wondering if there is a program (preferably freeware) that will copy everything over, including changing registry settings, so that I can avoid reloading everything again.

I will soon add another hard drive and want to store my games, some progs, photos, media files, etc...over to it and keep my other hard drive for the operating system and other things.

1. I am trying to word my question better:

I am adding another hard drive.
I want to move my games and some other applications over to it and keep my OS (Win2000)on the original drive.
How?

2. Try Junction or Symlink - both free

notes:

I've only used Symlink, but it works like a top.

If you've never done anything like this before, it can be a bit tricky to understand what's going on...

Lastly, unlike Linux, NTFS does NOT support linking over the network, only local drives (those connected directly to the computer) - but that is exactly what you're looking to do...

won't move the files and folders for you, but it'll repair the registry, ini files, and shortcuts after the move. I used an older version on a Win9x system years ago and it worked as advertised. Take care to read the article closely, plan ahead, and be mindful while using it or you can wind up with trouble that can be a bear to fix.

5. I second that recommendation.

Easy as pie to use, and worked for me when moving at least 30 programs at once.

Just enter the current address and the new address and hit "change now".

4. I don't think there's a foolproof way

Better to just clear it all out and reinstall. Getting a new drive is a good time to do some heavy maintenance, anyway. Defrag, archive, partition, even reformat. My 2 cents.
