Astrologers: Tracking the earth changes and Astrocartography
7.2-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Indonesia Late Wednesday

March 2
TOKYO (AP) - A powerful earthquake struck eastern Indonesia late Wednesday, meteorological agencies said, and was felt as far off as Australia. No damage or injuries were immediately reported.

The magnitude 7.2 quake, which did not trigger a tsunami, was centered about 200 miles southeast of Ambon in the Banda Sea, Japan's Meteorological Agency said. The U.S. Geological Survey put the earthquake's magnitude at 6.8.

Officials at Indonesia's Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said no damage or injuries were reported, perhaps because of the quake's depth - 120 miles under the seabed - and distance from the mainland.

It was not immediately clear if residents in Ambon, the capital of Maluku province, felt the quake. But people in Australia's northern city of Darwin said they could feel their houses shaking.

Japan's Meteorological Agency said last month it would start issuing bulletins on earthquakes powerful enough to trigger tsunami - meaning those measuring magnitude 7 and above - even when they occur far from Japan.

The agency traditionally had only released data on earthquakes and tsunami having a domestic impact. But after killer waves triggered by a magnitude 9.0 quake killed thousands of people in countries lining the Indian Ocean on Dec. 26, it decided to deliver warnings to alert Japanese travelers and overseas residents of possible threats in their areas.

The agency also said last month it and the United States would begin providing tsunami warnings to countries around the Indian Ocean as early as March as a temporary measure until the region establishes its own alert system.

please post it. Earthquakes in Arizona? whoever heard of such a thing?

I just posted elsewhere, Around March 19 we could begin to get earthquakes in the US as well as major accidents, or even attacks.

I am getting used to seeing the other places. Been a lot of activity all around the other areas I posted about, during the last several months.

Anyway, I will continue posting them as I receive them. :)

On edit: Whoops! Forgot to mention that the Loyalty Islands are near New Caledonia, if that helps at all. :)

12. Three volcanoes erupt in Indonesia following quakes:

Thousands flee in panic as Indonesian volcano spews into life

Tue Apr 12, 1:15 PM ET Asia - AFP

MOUNT TALANG, Indonesia (AFP) - A volcano spewed into life on Indonesia's disaster-blighted Sumatra island, spreading new panic after the recent tsunami and earthquakes and driving thousands from their homes. Mount Talang, 40 kilometres (25 miles) east of Sumatra's coastal Padang city began pumping out volcanic ash shortly before dawn, prompting scientists to urge people to move away from the fall-out zone.

Vulcanologist Gede Suwantika described Talang's activity as "serious" saying there was a risk of molten magma and clouds of super-heated gas that burn everything in their path.
"This is what I worry, that this activity will be followed by a larger eruption that is magmatic in nature," he said.
"Heat clouds could also descend, and this is what is risky as they can reach several kilometres" he said.

-snip-

The Indonesian archipelago sits atop a series of faultlines where three continental plates collide with immense pressure, causing almost daily earthquakes and frequent eruptions from more than 130 active volcanoes.

According to Fauzan, a geophysicist with the meteorology and geophysics agency, Talang's eruption is directly linked to the recent seismic activity off Sumatra's shores. "Tectonically speaking, it is true that there are links between tectonic activities in the Indian Ocean and volcanic activities in Sumatra," he told AFP. He said the massive December quake had activated Leuser Mountain, a volcano in Aceh province along the same range of peaks as Talang, while the Nias quake had sparked activity in lake Toba, an ancient crater in Sumatra.

13. NYT April 14
"In southern Japan, Mount Aso erupted Thursday, spewing a plume of white smoke 660 feet into the sky and sprinkling ash around the edge of its crater. Kyodo News reported five tourists were evacuated by bus, but there were no reports of injuries. The 5,223-foot mountain, on Japan's southern main island of Kyushu, is one of Japan's five most active volcanoes."

Filed at 9:46 p.m. ET

"MOUNT TALANG, Indonesia (AP) -- Scientists on Thursday were closely monitoring three volcanoes that have rumbled into life -- activity they link to December's massive earthquake off the coast of Sumatra Island and the powerful temblors that followed. Authorities have declared the other two -- Anak Krakatoa off Sumatra's southern tip and Tangkuban Perahu in west Java province -- off-limits to hikers, citing a buildup of gas inside the peaks and an increase in volcanic eruptions. Anak Krakatoa is a small volcanic island that appeared in the 1930s on the site of the former volcano of Krakatoa, which produced the world's most powerful explosion when it erupted in 1883 and killed an estimated 36,000 people.

The mountains are among at least 129 active volcanoes in Indonesia, the world's largest archipelago nation. The country is especially prone to seismological activity because it is part of the Pacific ''Ring of Fire'' -- a series of volcanoes and fault lines stretching from the Western Hemisphere through Japan and Southeast Asia.

Adding to the jitters, a magnitude-6.4 earthquake struck the area Thursday, causing people to flee their homes but resulting in no damage, the state-run Antara news agency reporteed

that Indonesia, being fragile already, might experience another big one...

The New Zealand/Australia tectonic plate is connected to movement of the Indonesian plates. Action-reaction.

Massive landslides to sweep away spent nuclear fuel depositories in Kyrgyz

http://english.pravda.ru/accidents/21/97/385/15293_land...

04/15/2005 11:37
A possible nuclear ecological disaster in the republic may cause immense damage to the whole Central Asia

Kyrgyzstan, which has been recently shocked with a national revolution, is currently dealing with a danger of a serious ecological disaster. A massive landslide has recently occurred near the town of Mailu-Suu, in the area, where spent nuclear fuel depositories are situated. Huge layers of soil blocked a mountainous river, which made the water in the river flow on the territory of the factory. According to experts' estimates, the volume of the landslide made up 300,000 cubic meters. Specialists of the republic's EMERCOM do not approach the disastrous area over the threat of another possible landslide.

The enterprise, on the territory of which spent fuel depositories are located, is not functioning. The landslide took place on the area, where over 20 depositories of the uranium production are situated. The deposits have not been repaired for more than a decade already because of the lack of funds in the budget of Kyrgyzstan. Ecologists believe that the destruction of only one deposit near Mailu-Suu may result in an ecological disaster that will hit not only Kyrgyzstan alone, but the entire territory of Middle Asia

You will see a NEW earthquake, this time a 5.6 on the Bolivia/Peru border.
It is interesting to see how many earthquakes there have been in the past two weeks. I notice a lack of earthquakes in California. Hopefully, stress is not building up in that area.

Edited on Sat Apr-16-05 07:03 PM by SimpleTrend
The historical magenta or purple color (older than 2 weeks, but less than 5 years) is deemphasized size-wise. Nothing older than 5 years is charted. The two skews deemphasize historical earthquake occurrences.

26. Volcano off East Africa erupts
Hundreds Flee as Comoros Volcano Erupts, Spews Ash

By Ahmed Ali Amir
MORONI (Reuters) - A volcano erupted on the Indian Ocean Comoros islands Sunday, forcing hundreds of villagers to flee in fear of poison gas as the crater spewed ash and flung boulders over molten lava, witnesses said.Darkness enveloped homes near the summit of Mount Karthala as black rain pounded the mountainside, sparking panic among residents afraid of the kind of noxious fumes that seeped from the volcano a century ago, killing 17 people.

"Villagers are in total darkness, gritty rain is falling and visibility is zero," a resident from the village of Idjinkoundzi on the western flank of Mount Karthala, who gave his name as Charif, told Reuters by telephone.

The 7,746-foot Mount Karthala and its forested slopes form most of the land mass of Grande Comore, the main island in the Comoros chain which lies 300 km (190 miles) off east Africa, and which has witnessed periodic eruptions.

27. 7 Story Wave Damages Cruise Ship Returning From Bahamas
(being in Florida, this is too close to a tsunami type incident on the East Coast for comfort)

Seven-Story-High Wave Hits Cruise Ship

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A seven-story-high wave damaged a cruise ship returning from the Bahamas over the weekend, smashing windows, flooding more than 60 cabins and injuring four passengers.
The Norwegian Dawn was diverted from its route when the ship ran into rough weather on the way back to New York. The 965-foot-long vessel was docked in the Charleston harbor by late Saturday afternoon for repairs, officials said.

``The ship was hit by a freak wave that caused two windows to break in two different cabins,'' Norwegian Cruise Line said in a statement. It said 62 cabins flooded and four passengers had cuts and bruises. The wave reached as high as deck 10 on the ship, company spokeswoman Susan Robison said Sunday.

The ship's hull was damaged but the vessel was not taking on water, said Keith Moore of the Coast Guard Group Charleston.
``All the passengers had donned personal flotation devices as a precaution,'' Moore told The (Charleston) Post and Courier.

The cruise line said passengers whose cabins were flooded were being flown home from Charleston and the safety of the ship ``was in no way compromised by this incident.''The ship left New York last Sunday with 2,500 passengers aboard. It was expected to arrive in New York on Monday.

And with the big one that hit Boxing day (12/26) 2004, and the slight shift it gave the earth, plus the twister in San Francisco the other week, we are truly living in the day after tomorrow.
