Is anyone getting any feeling about the internet cables being cut to Iran and SW Asia? |
|
Four separate cables were cut and now they have hardly any phone service and no internet. I am sorry that I don't know how to do the links. But it's all over the latest breaking news section.
This seems like a huge deal to me as Iran was just going to open it's oil trading in Euros (not dollars) and it seems to me that something serious is going on.
Any thoughts or feelings?
This is striking me as a very sinister and complicated pre war dance.
I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post and discuss this. I am still new. I enjoy very much reading the insights of those who often post in this group.

This topic is already in progress here in this thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=245x62025So jump right in! I don't feel it's an accident, though I don't know its purpose. Not good.

2. My feeling about it is that it's connected to Cheney's attempt to expand the Iraq war into Iran. |
|
But if I were to draw any conclusions based on feelings alone—I still don't get that it's going to "go" where some people are afraid it will.

I'm not getting any indications of anything. On the other hand, I was not aware that there were 4 separate cables cut and the Iranians were "cut off" literally. It certainly seems more than a random "accident" or unrelated to anything.
What's your take on it? Any thoughts?
Here's my take on the situation - We (meaning = the US government) is trying all sorts of ways to damage, to impair, or to do anything that will hurt Iran. A lot of it is clandestine, but some of it is out in the open. Like Bush sending "Black Ops" secret operatives to Iran, to try and destabilize that country, in any way they can. He's been quite open about this. Also, Iran has in fact been trading in Euros for a while now. I'm not sure if this was coincident with the opening of their Bourse.
Bottom line: we are not going to attack this country. We are weaker than most people realize, and Iran is immensely powerful. Plus, Iran has some super-strong backers (thank God) Russia, China, Japan and others who will NOT I repeat NOT let the U.S. bomb Iran. It's not going to happen. But that will not stop the US from trying any number of really evil tactics to undermine that country.
The main reason is PURE unadulterated FEAR. The US realizes that IRAN has now become the major power in the region. There is an enormous transfer of wealth going on right now, from oil consuming nations to oil producing nations.
Maybe not the U.S. - Don't discount the fact that the Mullahs in Iran are behind this. Important point: the mullahs are religious strong-men and they do NOT like the fact that younger Iranians are interested in the "Evil West" they could be behind it. I've seen a gradual tightening-up, more & more restrictions in this country, mainly because of US mischief and pressure coming from the outside. As the US applies pressure, Iran becomes more restrictive.
Bottom line ~ As we go around the world hurting other countries, we ourselves will be destroyed as a result of it. Look at what is happening in this country; our economy is set to implode. Experts say around March of this year, we're set for a meltdown. One huge gigantic Karma - on the way.

6. what about the idea the cables were cut near Alexandria, site |
|
of the ancient trading crossroads and library, seat of "communication" in the world for hundreds of years?
One of those odd cosmic "twists?" Something intentional?
