Inauguration Confusion and Competence

2. Roberts has been pushing for a pay raise for the judiciary

He claims they don't make enough. With Obama's freezing the pay of executive employees, it's unlikely that he'd take kindly to giving the judges a pay, particularly when he has firsthand knowledge of a certain judge's incompetence.

He knows he has Alzheimers, too. It is possible that he will decide during the next few months to retire from the bench, truly for health reasons. When I was reading this, it suddenly came to me.

I just saw that he has known for awhile. That is why he was so keen on having the oath said over. He wanted very badly to get it right. He felt responsible.
