Soldier killed in RPG attack in Baghdad

BAGHDAD — A soldier was killed by a rocket-propelled grenade last week in Baghdad, the military said Sunday.

The Multi-National Division — Baghdad soldier’s vehicle was struck while on patrol in eastern Baghdad on Thursday, according to a brief statement. It did not say why the death was not reported earlier.

The military also reported that a U.S. soldier assigned to Multi-National Division — North died Saturday of non-combat causes in the northern Ninevah province.

The incident is under investigation, it said.

Identities were withheld pending family notification.
