WASHINGTON — A Navy destroyer will call in Boothbay Harbor during the coastal resort town’s Windjammer Days Festival next month.

The Anzio will pay a port visit June 23-26. The visit was announced by Sen. Susan Collins R-Naturally, who requested it.

The Anzio is a Ticonderoga class guided missile destroyer, launched in 1990. Its home port is Norfolk Naval Station in Virginia.

1. They have been doing this forever.
It was always fun to go to the beach when the fleet was in. I lived near an navy base when I grew up. Course I will also say, you were in the dog house with your father if you were seen with a sailor.
