FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Seven members of the 82nd Airborne Division were charged with involuntary manslaughter on Monday in the death of an Army private whose body was found in a car at Fort Bragg.

The division, in a statement, identified the soldiers charged: Sgts. Christopher Mignocchi, Kyle G. Saltz and Justin A. Boyle; Spcs. Ryan Sullivan, Joseph A. Misuraca and Charles B. DeLong; and Pfc. Andrey Udalov.

They all are assigned to the division’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company, as was the victim, Pfc. Luke Brown.

The soldiers also are charged with conspiracy to commit battery. Boyle and Sullivan are charged with communicating a threat and Mignocchi and Udalov are charged with obstructing justice, the division said.

A division spokesman said Monday that he didn’t know if the soldiers had attorneys.

1. How do you charge people for crimes associated with another's
death when you don't know the cause of death?

The Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, D.C., autopsied Brown but was unable to determine a cause of death, officials said.

And being unable to determine a cause of death doesn't speak very highly of the AF Institute of Pathology.

4. That's what I thought at first
But you would have to say the cause of death was related to something. Did he choke, was he locked in the car in the heat and he baked, did his heart give out, did he take a beating and was made to bleed and he bled out.

Conduct unbecoming and violations of provision against hazing yes, anything related to the cause of death, not likely without knowing the cause of death.
