Trolling the theists: What's the worst thing you've ever done? |
|
I admit, sometimes it's fun to fuck with the easily led. What's the most shameless troll you've ever been involved in?

1. The Luke 6:30 bomb and others |
|
Luke 6:30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
I have used this verse on a number of occaisions to completely turn the tables on a xian. It puts them on the defensive. Either they back away from it or they wind up giving me everything they have.
I once had a challenge on the net pointing to some verse in the bible concerning the power of prayer. 2 in particular. One said that if a xian had the faith of a mustard seed they could pray for a mountain to toss itself into the sea and it would. The other said that if any two or more xians prayed to god for something it would be so.
Thus I set up my challenge. I have these little wind up toys that were sold as Darwin's Doggie. They look like green four legged fish.... sort of. Anyway, I put one on top of my monitor at work and at home and took a photo of them. I then explained that the challenge was for xians around the world to pray for the fish to move on its own with only god's assistance to make it happen. Nothing as spectacular as tossing a mountain into the ocean. But far within the parameters of the claims.
This challenge ran for about 3 years. Numerous xians claimed to try it in the debate channel I initiated it from. But the fish never moved.
The Easter Challenge was another we would regularly throw at them. We would challenge the local xian debate channel(Dalnet) to solve it. The Easter Challenge is simply to read the 4 gospels concerning the events around the Crucifixion. And then simply report what happened leaving out no detail and showing no contradictions.

Shame on you all.
I think everyone on DU said some regrettable things during Popestock '05 - I know I did. I apologised to the person involved.

Catholicism is such an easy target (kinda like Scientology). I still like to get in a zinger every once in a while.
p.s. I preferred "pope-a-palooza"

4. I went up to some crazy born again on the streets of vegas |
|
asked him 'if we're all God's children, then whats so special about Jesus.' After about 3 seconds of odd looks on his face and no response I walked away. After I got about 10 feet down the street he starts yelling. "NO NO, were not all God's children, only those who are born again are God's children." The idiocy of his response doesn't really answer the question, even if his response was true then the question would be whats special about Jesus over anyone whose born again.

5. Refer to the Holy Handkerchief as "Jeebus Crisco"... |

OK, so if that's extra-snarky with sprinkles, OK. It's just that sometimes after a day of reading and hearing how the Dominionists want to burn me at the stake in "This Christian Country"....

Never trolled any theist group (it's boring), but I did come up with the First Church of St. Jeffrey Dahlmer, in honor of the serial killer who alledgely converted to a born again Xian in prison. Why? I thought it was interesting to take the fundamentalist notion of forgiveness to the extreme. Jeffery Dahlmer goes to heaven, but his unsaved victims go to hell. Christian justice in all it's glory.
I was a sick boy back in the day.

8. But many will gladly take that stance |

I remember getting a visiting preacher at my school (British private school, so no church/state issues) to say that yes, if Hitler repented on his death bed, he'd have gone to heaven, while Gandhi wouldn't, no matter how worthy his life was (and this wasn't a hellfire type - quite a nice guy, apart from his theological positions). I think he lost a few potential converts with that.
