I voted No on 1, of course. I thought it would be a squeaker; I'm very relieved to see that such a high percentage of people in the Commonwealth have more sense on the matter than I thought. In fact, all the ballot questions I voted on (1, 2 and 3) went the way I voted, which was a pleasant experience -- in the states I've lived in before (CA and MI), I'm used to being disappointed in my fellow state residents. :)

Republican town, and they voted NO on question 1 and elected a Democratic state representative in replacement of the old Republican one who retired. They even voted YES on question 4 (building a new high school).
It was not a good year for Republicans in MA (I just wised Scott Brown had been beaten, but it was a lot to ask, I am afraid).

5. Thank you EVERYBODY. That is such good... |

...news. Especially the fact that is was so overwhelmingly rejected. That will make it much harder to put on other states' ballots in the future...states like California with an initiative process are wide open to stuff like this.
Nobody likes taxes...and, heaven knows, I hate that mine are so high. But this kind of thing destabiizes a government. NO ONE wins, if that happens...no one.
I hope this is the end of that idea.
BTW, looks like T.Boone Pickens Prop. 10 out here is going down to defeat. :7
