The Republican Budget Cuts Small Business Funds
The Republican Budget Cuts Small Business Funds
29 April 2005

In a huge blow to small business yesterday, the Kerry Snowe Amendment ((SA.216) was eliminated from final federal budget. The amendment (SA.216) passed in the Senate last month with the support of all 100 Senators. It was later removed from the final legislation by the Republican Congressional leadership. John Kerry voted against the final federal budget bill yesterday.

“The Republicans only pay lip service to small businesses and manufacturers. How ironic that during National Small Business Week the Republican party has chosen tax favors for the wealthiest over programs that benefit America's small businesses and manufacturers," said Kerry, the top Democrat on the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee. “To grow our economy and restore our eroding manufacturing sector, we should be increasing, not decreasing, assistance for small businesses and manufacturers.”

1. Once again, remember * & Co ...
Edited on Fri Apr-29-05 09:13 PM by TayTay
look at SBA as a Rethug pigy bank. As Senator pointed out, The * Admin had the nerve to push SBA for a loan to fund *'s trip across the country to promote destroying Social Security (in order to save it.)

Never underestimate the desire of the Rethugs to punish those who oppose them. A telecommunications conference this week had the people on it who had supported John Kerry in the 2004 election pulled. This time the Mouth of Sauron was Trent Duffy, who explained, "We wanted people who would represent the Administration positively, and--call us nutty--it seemed like those who wanted to kick this Administration out of town last November would have some difficulty doing that."

It will get worse. These people have no morals at all. None. You cannot make an appeal to conscience. They don't have any. They are mean, vindictive and nasty. They have the power now and they intend to use it to intimidate any and all who oppose them. They must be stopped for the good of our people, our democracy and our way of life. Those are the stakes.

BTW, I found a picture of Scott McLellan or Trent Duffy explaining, in their most compassionate voice, how much they love the poor:

Hey, if you can't trust the Mouth of Sauron, who can you trust.

3. That's their Prom King, fercrissakes!
The rest of them are *really* ugly. I really, really, really friggin hate these people. They are just so full of lies, deceit and arrogance that it's a wonder that the very earth itself hasn't opened up to swallow them. (And we can rush over and salt the earth they fell into so nothing foul can grow from that place.)

Hey, at least last week, on Earth Day, Mother Nature did indeed strike back. * was supposed to land in some national park that he is secretly trying to strip mine and Mother Nature whipped up a freak storm that prevented * from landing. As soon as the trip was cancelled, Ma Nature ended the storm. The earth knows who her friends are and who here enemies are, that's for sure.

4. LOVED that weather story
They did a bit on it on the Daily Show. All I could think of was the karmic justice of a hailstorm striking * on Earth Day (insert prolonged bitter laughter).

Remember that stupid margarine commercial? "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature!"
