and just buy the same brand I plan on with the digi, that way I can carry the lenses over. . . . or should I just wait and do it all at once. . . decisions decisions decisions. :)

1. I guess the Canon EOS line would be a good choice.
You can then buy the digital body some time down the road.

2. That's kind of what I'm thinking.
I can get a film EOS for a very reasonable price, and later on, the digi body will be even more reasonable.

I'm not postive I want to do this yet, I may just live with my Minolta for a while longer, it's a pretty darn good camera. I'd just like more flexibility for a few things (wide angle in particular, and I'd like to have more macro capabilities too).

I'm not really in a rush to do anything though, I have time to think about it :).

3. I rarely use my film camera now.
I will go SLR digi someday soon.

4. With a 4000 dpi scanner, I can get digital images

beyond 5050x3200, or about the equivalent of 16 megapixels.

I use a 35mm EOS Rebel G, I'm sure the software inside is really really outdated, but it's still a dayum good camera.

Actually I looked, this is a damn good camera.
