1. I'm very partial to the lily of the valley...
I remember them from in front of my grandmother's house when I was a little girl. They smelled so heavenly.

2. The tulip shot is striking. Unique.
Since I'm usually mistaken, go with the other one.

3. They're both stunning!
But the tulip made me gasp!

I'd choose that one, for sure...

4. I don't think I can choose...
...because picking one inevitably means rejecting the other -- and I can't do that!

:applause:

5. I can't pick - both are great, but maybe look at cropping both a bit tighter?
Here are both done to 8x10. They both get a tad more abstract, but to my eye they gain more than they lose. ???

6. I like both but prefer the tulip
I would like the lily more if it was lighter/brighter but I think I'd still like the tulip better--it's striking and unusual; and I think the sharpest focus in the lily pic is on the stem instead of the flower. I think I like the extra space in both and wouldn't crop much except maybe the very bottom out-of-focus part of the lily.

7. Going with the tulip now I need help
picking a title.

First thought was "Up close & personal" but then the SO said "Sexual Organs" then he morphed it in to Sexual Organs up close & personal". Give me your thoughts ideas.

Thanks for all the feedback. Been a while since I went out and looked with the camera. Beyond the votes the "gasp" from California Peggy made up my mind. I like making people gasp. There are so many people in the photo group that make me gasped with pleasure at the beauty of their photos that I want to get them too at least once.

My tulips are dieing back which means that none of them had all their petals up but the sun was hitting them so nice I had to try getting some of the color somehow. I did do some more playing with the crop. I went with more headroom because I want the glow of the petals in the tulip. The Lilies of the Valley are just starting to bloom. We seem to be in the middle of some flowers going or gone and they others just not quite there yet.

Hey Blue, are they (Lily of the Valley) allowed in AK? If they are I could send you some bulbs come fall. They should be able to survive there. I notice lots of flowers and bulbs are marked not allowed in AK along with a couple other states.

8. I can't imagine why they wouldn't be allowed...

I think I remember seeing some in front of my mom and dad's church downtown, but I'll do some checking and let you know. I would LOVE to have some. I have a whole new, rather huge flower bed to fill this year, and I think they would do well in the shady part. I'll get back with you on this. I would be thrilled to grow some.

I know Alaska is kind of picky about letting seed potatoes in from Outside because we have a very clean stock up here, no fungus or potato rot, whatever it is, but I haven't heard anything about bulbs.

ed. I can't find any restrictions. There are some "noxious weeds" they don't want brought in here, but lily of the valley doesn't qualify as that. I'll remind you in the fall. :) Some of the places won't ship live plants up here, but I think just because of the time involved in shipping, they probably wouldn't last.

9. I love the tulip
I'm not very good with titles but if you want something sexy maybe "Love in Bloom", "Love on a Spring Afternoon" "Mating Season"

Like I said, I'm not good with titles.
