KOEB Meeting 5/13/08 West Virginia It's All in Hillary's Head Primary Edition

Will Keith be "Almost Heaven" tonight?

Will Hillary win big and keep wrestling...or throw in the towel?

Tune in to see. I'm not feeling well tonight, so I may not be online and posting a lot. Hoping the sight of Keith does me good. I guess I'm better than I was a few weeks back when I couldn't even sit up to post, but it's not a huge improvement.

1. And the show kicks off very interestingly by showing Obama's town hall meeting in Missouri.
Edited on Tue May-13-08 06:03 PM by BerryBush
He's in Cape Girardeau making his case. And OMG, he is wearing a FLAG PIN. Alert the media!!

Edit: MSNBC doesn't agree with me. They think it was as exciting as watching paint dry. Hey, at least it wasn't sitting around watching them talk. That's what the rest of the show has been.

124. But you know, sometimes it can be fun to watch paint.
I'm always wondering if it will dry to the color I chose, or if the guy at the hardware store goofed......

Ok, so I have no life. :(

4. Huckabee thinks all the evangelicals will go with McCain over Obama.
When he says it, though, he sounds like Terry McAuliffe talking about how Hillary still has a chance to win.

Forget "It's all in Hillary's head." It's all in Terry McAuliffe's head.

Man, that guy is majorly delusional. He is whipping out ridiculous talking points faster than anyone can truth-check them.

She will continue even after she's told the primaries are over and we have run out of states.

"But...but...I'm sure I can win big in Ontario...they LOVE me there. I KNOW they do."

"Hillary...Ontario is in Canada. It's not part of this country."

"What...*sniff* *sniff* about Alberta?"

"Canadian."

"Manitoba?? Saskatchewan?? British Columbia??"

"Sorry. All Canadian."

"I mean, I know Quebec is probably out of the question--they're French, those snobs will go for Obama no matter how much I campaign--"

"Hillary. Darling. They're Canadian too."

*staring blankly* "Newfoundland? Nova Scotia? Prince Edward Island?"

"'Fraid not."

"The Yukon?? The Northwest Territories--I KNOW I can win there, I almost won Guam--"

"No."

"Then...it's over??"

"Yes."

"Maybe I can talk Barack into best two out of three?"

In short...They tried to tell her to quit...but she would have Nunavut.

The sad part is, it's still so BIG...rich with regular DU'ers who just lost their wits when Hillary went from "inevitable" to "evitable."

12. People have surprised me.
And not in a good way, necessarily.

The most disappointing is seeing otherwise level-headed people fall for the "If you don't support Hillary, you're a sexist" meme. That and the "Keith betrayed us by saying negative things about Hillary and he is a sexist" business.

And what continues to frost me is those who are still convinced that Keith is a slave to his corporate masters, and will begin banging the drum for McCain as soon as the Dem nominee is in the can.

Hell, I know how hard it is to not have your candidate win. I was an Edwards supporter, and it hurt like hell when he decided to suspend his campaign. But he wasn't going to get it, and neither is Hilary.

Some people just aren't willing to let go.

18. Ann Lewis. She and Terry have been smoking some incredible stuff.
Whew. She doesn't even think there will be any suspense at the convention. By that time, Hillary will have won it hands down.

Someone feed these people some reality juice.

I also want to say: If what she says is true, and 80% of the supers decide against the will of the people that "Hillary is what's best for the party," this primary will have been the first, and last, one in which I ever voted as a Democrat.

I've seen this kind of shit happen in other arenas--"Oh, I know So-and-So won this time, but Such-and-Such is a better REPRESENTATIVE, and has a better chance of winning ELSEWHERE..." I hated it there. I hate it here. Completely goes against my sense of fair play. You give it to who won at the moment. It may not sound like "strategy," but it's the only fair way to play it. Otherwise, why not just have EVERY presidential election decided by the Supreme Court and what they think is best for the country?

96. I admit, I got disillusioned about them not long after '92.
Bill got me very excited about voting that year for the first time in a long time. But then he blew it by being so damn wishy-washy. By '96 I was throroughly disillusioned. Come '98 I was repulsed.

Looking back, I thought his presidency was better than many, and certainly preferable to the one we're suffering now. Also that the Monica thing was a crazy witch hunt and not worth the candle, as icky and depressing as it all was. Also, a great deal of what was said about the Clintons by their political enemies was not only false and unfair but downright rabidly insane. And I think his Global Initiative was a fine idea and has done a great deal of good.

That being said, though...I've never been deeply in love with the Clintons, and never again as excited about having one in office as I was in '92. Never able to work up a lot of affection for the Big Dog, although it was always so refreshing to listen to him because he is obviously so much more brilliant than the current White House occupant that you can't even compare the two.

But I'm afraid that during the last few months, they've both been fulfilling some of the worst fantasies I could have had about their bad side. It's very depressing to see it.

107. That's what I think.
They are the perfect couple because nothing means more to either of them than power. Power is what holds them together. The lust for power.

To be honest, I think it's part of the reason the Repugs hate them so. When it comes to naked lust for power, they hate competition from the other side.

No, not pandering a bit, is she?

More determined than ever to carry on the campaign.

"Continues to be a hard-fought race."

"Our commitment means we have always stood together"? Concession? Pre-concession?

"I need your commitment to continue this journey. Your support can mean the difference between winning and losing"?

She's just asked a bunch of POOR PEOPLE to help keep her afloat. Told them that if they did, she would win.

"We came from behind to win in Indiana."

Oh. My. God.

after scoring the most runs in each game, there's no group of "baseball superdelegates" that decides the other team would be a better representative of your league in the World Series anyway.

You tell 'em, Keith. There is HER math, and then there is REALITY math. There is fundraising, and there is her Ponzi scheme.

As he said: "HER facts have changed."

That's exactly it. Even when she moves the goalposts, she re-moves them. Then she pretends like someone else did the original move.

And I wish he was.

He's still trying to do his voodoo math. And telling Tweety he's sure the speech sent a tingle up his leg.

Kinda liked it when Tweety said "That's an old one, Terry, get some new material" and asked him which part of the speech he thought was the most "Churchillian."

Me? I'd have to go for whenever she said "a," "an" or "the." Churchill used those words in his speeches, too.

saying the "pundits" are enjoying the whole thing. And Terry goes ballistic about that, yelling that no, he just wants it over. Whew, what a nutjob.

Keith asks the question that SHOULD be asked, which is: SHOULD the supers overrule the people???? I don't think he would like it if there were "baseball superdelegates." Sheesh!

Huckabee reminds everyone that the REAL winner tonight is John McCain!!!! You BET it is! :grr:
