The U.S. Supreme Court turned down Terri Schiavo's parents Thursday,
declining to intervene to keep the brain-damaged woman alive, while
Florida Gov. Jeb Bush lost his bid before a state judge to help the parents
regain control of their daughter from her husband. The Supreme Court
decision, announced in a terse one-page order, marked the end of a
dramatic four-day dash through the federal court system by Bob and Mary
Schindler.
As for Bush... "The governor is disappointed and will continue to do
whatever
he can within the law to save Terri's life," Bush spokesman Jacob
DiPietre said.
The police presence outside Schiavo's hospice increases; So far, 13
activists arrested...

video that its editors believe was posted on-line by Red Lake teen Jeff

Finally,
A Pennsylvania woman was charged with stealing money and other items in
recent weeks by walking up to six elderly victims, giving them a big
hug - and then stealing their wallets or other loose items in the
process. Mary Ann Johnson pretended to know the victims who are too polite to
refuse her hugs, police said.

A whole new meaning to "finger food." (and Wendy's Chili is about the only fast food I like!)

re: story #1 - "(Jeb) is disappointed and will continue to do whatever he can within the law to save Terri's life." Since when did following the law ever stop a blivet (or a blivet-wanna-be)?

Sorry I'll miss tonight's gathering. Have fun without me (but not too much, OK?)

2. Won't be a party without ya, Rev. :-(
I'll still be up when the show re-airs, if you want to join me then.

A few of us had fun blogging after-hours last night -- kinda like we did during Alison's pre-empted show last week -- only we put it at the end of Wed.'s KOEB thread.

Wish there were more night-owls to do that, so I could watch the show downstairs at 8:00 and note my thoughts -- then post them at appropriate points during the re-air.

It's a bitch having to run up and downstairs during the show AND being a slow typist!

Anyway, I know you've got a demanding week, Rev, but I'll watch for you at midnight, anyway.
:-)
