Sweeeeeet! NY Post: Kaplan rumored out by the end of the year.
KAPLAN MAY BE BOOTED

By TIM ARANGO
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
September 13, 2005 -- After being passed over for a chance to replace NBC News chief Neal Shapiro, MSNBC boss Rick Kaplan's job is in jeopardy, The Post has learned.
Sources say Kaplan is likely to be out as the head of the ratings-challenged cable news network by the end of the year.

These sources say that Kaplan believes he should have been considered to replace Shapiro, despite failing to boost ratings at the network, which is ranked a distant third behind Fox News and CNN.

2. As long as the tantrums are't thrown at Dan and Keith...
it's okay by me.

(Seriously, throwing fits at ANYONE is uncalled for. I work in the legal profession, and I've seen some doozies. Why these ding-dongs think that by humiliating an employee, it will make them more motivated, is totally beyond me.

and also never having been an employee in a job where you are called on to take anybody's shit....

Let me tell you a story, chilluns, gather round.

I once had a customer who seemed to always operate in the "mean" mode. She regularly would insinuate that I was no good at my job, that my company sucked, that my work ethic was poor, and that I was the wrong person for the assignment. My boss, of course, knew otherwise, and ignored her. Meanwhile, she would regularly humiliate me on conference calls in front of my team and her team, etc. However, she would in fact do this to EVERYONE, my coworkers and her subordinates as well, so I was pretty quickly able to realize that it wasn't me, it was her.

Guess whose requests always got put on the bottom of the pile?

True story: one day before I was due to fly up there for a training session (I was quaking in my boots), the woman was hit by a car in the employee parking lot and broke her foot. I never actually had to meet her face to face.

Karma's a bitch, eh?

11. best part about that, crispy
is that you had nothing to do with it. that's why i don't go all out to "get back" at people.....i know somehow, someway that negativity is going to bounce back on 'em & it isn't going to be pretty. it's much better to do nothing, then sit back & watch the show without worrying about any negative blowback on yourself.

8. actually the converse as true, as Crispy points out below
and if you want to know about somebody's character, watch how they treat waitresses and admins and such. I can tell you, there are some guys who never got a second date with me because of the way they behaved toward the waiter on the first date.

10. exactly, gk!
as a former waitress, i watch for that stuff like a hawk. one guy didn't even get a "thanks & goodnight" from me because he stiffed the waiter & wasn't apologetic about it. :grr:

13. As a person who has been a victim of a Boss from Hell
who seriously needed either anger management classes or meds, I can say...

I wouldn't be the least bit sorry if Keith (as I once did) was able to "outlive his enemy," so to speak! (The Boss from Hell was forced to resign...she treated the higher-ups just as badly as those below her! Dumb!)
