It's a scam: High gas prices |
|
I'm shocked - SHOCKED I TELL YOU! - that George Bush still pretends to care about the American people. Let's face it, folks, we've been taken for a ride the past six years. So where is this new, caring, concerned man coming from? What has changed that would cause us to expect anything different from him now?
It's not the poll numbers. Dubya don't care 'bout no dang poll numbers. He's said so himself. Of course, almost everything out of the man's mouth is either vomit or a lie, so there's still good reason to not believe him now.
But what could the motivation be? We know Dubya hates giving speeches. He knows he mispronounces words. So why would he suddenly, after years of higher and higher gas prices, actually do something to bring relief to the American people, who he detests so much?
Follow the money. He's gonna look into price gouging and fixing by the big oil companies. Uh-huh, yeah, right. There aren't any pigs flying overhead, so I'm gonna add this one to the bullshit list. He's gonna stop adding to the national oil reserves, which will make more oil available in the market and bring prices down. Ummm...not on your life. Not enough there to even cause a blip on the ole gas pump prices.
So what is this big motivation?
Could it be that by lifting pollution standards the big oil companies can rake in even MORE profits?
BINGO!
Could it be that this is a way of pressuring Congress and opponents to allow more drilling in Alaska?
BINGO AGAIN!
This is just the latest, greatest catastrophe brought to you by The Bush Crime Family™, the same folks who brought you the 9/11 Tragedy®, the "Mission Accomplished" War in Iraq, the "Heckuva Job" Hurricane Katrina (also known as the Let's Clean Up New Orleans Project), Leakgate™, and the Great Depression of 2006 (not yet released).
To believe that this is anything other than just another opportunity to screw America while helping Dubya's good ole boys club members is foolish.
A fool and his money are soon departed - and Bush is counting on it! Again.

1. MY GOD!!! I just posted the same exact thing |
|
Not only are they fighting to dismantle environmental regulations and allow drilling in ANWR BUT think of the great campaign fodder material for any democrat that opposes this (which they should).

5. And then: outsourcing work to force US workers to beg Congress to gut |
|
all environmental regs AND worker protection... Just wait for it. It will happen.
Refineries in CO have been paying oil producers in WY, MT, and ND about half the rate OPEC is getting for crude. Gee, local oil and they are offering so little for it people are turning their pumps OFF?!?!
The refineries have all the oil they can handle right now. Reason? They haven't built new refineries in a couple decades. Why? They don't wanna spend the $$ to build them to comply with environmental regs.
They do not want ANY regulations, rules, laws, responsibilities. And they will starve America to force us to remove the rules. They will also blame brown people in far away places for the costs...
All part of the plan.

11. Big Oil also wants to keep a high demand and limited supply |
|
By only having so many refineries to produce the finished product. Knight Ridder did a story on it awhile back, and showed how they had closed down refineries across the country to limit capacity. Some employees and a community even wanted to purchase one of the refineries to keep the jobs, but the Oil Company rejected the offer, because their long term plans needed it closed and dismantled forever.
We have arrived to the point where everything the Federal Government & Corporate America, Inc. says is suspect, and against the best interests of 'We The People' and the good of the country.
We are all owned by the Corporate Government Store, which amounts to the Company Store on steroids and a national scale. Only the Wealthy Elite are entitled to life, liberty, and happiness, and the rest of us only get to rent our lives. The more money you have to spend, the better accommodations you can arrange for your life.

16. This looks like truth. Old-style imperial model, except: |
|
Once they have achieved even more immense wealth and power and total dominance over a socially- and economically-devastated America, their corporations will be able to continue to make huge money selling to the rising new middle classes of Eastasia and Eurasia (with whom, they will probably be assuring you, you are at continuous war).

Petroleum Mafia. He is bought and paid for. Asking bush* to discipline, or EVEN INVESTIGATE the oil companies and their plundering of the populace is literally asking the fox to investigate who's killing chickens in the hen-house. This is so laughable it would be a piss-poor SNL skit if it weren't reality. Hell yes we are being gouged, and with the full acquiescence of the White House. That's what he's there for. Once again bush* is a cheerleader, this time for the petroleum/military/corporate complex.

21. High gas prices are an extortion racket |
|
The oil companies are holding Americans hostage. They're jacking up prices as an excuse to hold the government over a barrel so as to force Congress to give the oil barons a license to pollute.
Notice how the wingnuts blame the environmentalists for passing laws that force them to clean up after themselves so we don't have to breathe their toxic fumes instead of God's air. The oil companies are not only using global demand, but also they're using emission control laws as a pretext for charging exorbitant prices at the pump.

when I heard about the lifting of the standards; how convenient. It's all part of the plan and prices won't come down and the standards will never be put back to their old levels as long as the repukes control everything.

"It's those darn Libruls who won't let us drill in Alaska keepin' them gas prices high."
Not their wars. Not the lack of alternative energy sources developed on a mass scale. Nope, it's Alaska and environmental regulations.
(Oh, and the Oil companies aren't making record profits. Move along folks, nothing to see here. :sarcasm:)
