1. I voted my wildest dream... |
|
In the hopes it will come true. After this month, I cannot see how a level Congress could turn a blind eye.

I really do think Bush is being seen as becoming "Nero." We actually may see a break in the stoic "Republican facade." They will realize they are backing a bad "horse."

15. I hope you're right, too. I think I would spend |
|
most of that day rolling on the floor, half crying and half laughing "Thank you!" at the universe in general....(sigh, imagining) but I try not to do that (forces brain to close that window) because of the relief I could imagine when I saw Kerry speak and thought of going to bed at night with him in charge of the country and not Georgie...
in other words, I'm afraid to have my chain yanked by hope anymore. But if you are right, once I can stand upright again, big-ass party at my house : )

drop like revelations that he lied about the extent of the NSA spying and Congress will have no choice but to take it up.

6. Time to come down to earth |
|
This story will probably not have a happy ending.
Even if we take back the House, impeachment proceedings couldn't start until next year at the earliest. Even then, it will be Clinton in reverse, with the sole, though major, difference being that Bush would be impeached on legitimate constitutional grounds. One thing would stay the same, though: there is no way two thirds of the Senate would vote for conviction and removal from office.
The only way Bush is out of there before January 20, 2009 is if he resigns. If that should happen, we had better hope and pray to whatever higher powers we believe in that Cheney resigns with or before him, or else it's president Cheney for real, not just behind the scenes like now.

9. I am not sure that he'll actually be impeached |
|
or that he will resign but I do think that Republican Congresspeople, especially those who will be running for office will be holding town hall meetings and will, with any luck, be hearing rumblings to suggest that Bush has become radioactive. Even if they don't talk about impeachment, there's a chance that we will stop hearing about the Democrats' "crass politicization" of the issue that Scotty kept spouting the other day.

7. I don't want him impeached! I want him to go down as the worst president |
|
ever on his own merit.
Let him live to be 110 years old and have to live with that fact every day of his rotten life.

10. He will regardless. If he's not impeached and found guilty he gets |
|
his retirement - $400,000 a year and all the perks. I would like to see him not get that and I would like to see him pay for his own guards out of his own pocket. There are going to be a lot of people looking for him for the rest of his life. I think he should have as miserable as life as possible. And then after impeachment, there are always war crime trials.

If the repukes take a blood bath this November they will need to impeach the monkey in order to completely cleanse the taint of their own corruption.

and, if a Repuke is elected in 2008, he will be "pre-emptively pardoned" for all his crimes . . .

Cheney will go back to shooting birds raised for him to shoot, Rumsfeld will go back to maiking millions, Wolfowitz will go back to write another defense policy paper or two.
We'll have another election between the wealthy. We'll fight the same fight as the years go by, over and over again. We'll have another war that we can protest to stop, but it'll happen. We'll be divided by something, anything really. It'll be a hoot.

Based on the Nixon timeline. So far, he's right on schedule, only with more scandals per week, with more variety and more seriousness than anything Nixon dreamed of.

22. Both he and Cheney will resign. |
|
First Cheney, probably this summer so they can name a Republican from outside the cabal to succeed him. Then Bush if the Democrats take over both houses of congress in 2007.
They need someone that can't be impeached for the crimes already committed and they need someone that will pardon the whole gang without regard for the future of the GOP. Someone loyal to the Bush family like James Baker.

23. I went with option two, since I feel certain he'll be gone by August. |

It will be a resignation, to avoid impeachment, conviction, removal from office and the remote possibility he'll face criminal charges of another varitety.

|
...oops, I mean Cheney follows Bush...silly me...nobody's going to do anything that gets rid of Tiberius...oooh, there I go again. I mean Bush, of course. Really I do.
The best way to keep from being impeached is to make sure your vice president is even more loathsome than you are, e.g., Spiro Agnew, Dan Quayle.

Cheney will be replaced with a lesser evil, perhaps a Rockefeller just to drive the Freepers and Illuminati-freaks insane.
