Bush still has not called to congratulate the newly elected Italian PM

<snip>Meanwhile, Prodi kept receiving calls of congratulations from world leaders, the latest being interim Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert. Prodi’s spokesman, Silvio Sircana, said US president George Bush – a close Berlusconi ally – had not called.

13. Old Babs didn't do too well at teaching etiquette, apparently.
If she did, Georgie didn't pick up anything from the lessons. If it doesn't affect him directly, he just doesn't care.

14. She barely raised him at all -
there was a sister who was ill with leukemia when * was young. The folks took her to NY for treatment and left the boys to be raised by "friends and neighbors". The sister died :( after several months. The boys, if I recall correctly, were sent to boarding schools thereafter.
All this from Babs' book published in '92 or '93 - it's a nice piece of recycling material, IMO.

6. Hopefully Prodi will get pissed off enough about it that when Bush does...
...finally call Prodi will remind him that Italian troops will be leaving Iraq immediately. And by the way Mr. Bush you can get that air base of yours at Aviano out of here too.

7. Servio (I swear I heard Boo$h call him this) hasn't formally conceded
yet, so therefore Mr. Don't Get Snippy (thanks Al), doesn't have to call because he's The Decider and he ain't decided it's time to call.

9. It typically takes him several days to acknowledge news that
doesn't fit into his agenda. Consider his reaction to the tsunami, Katrina and I'm sure I could think of more if I had time to do a little research.

10. Big trouble
The e-voting invasion was too little but its fingerprints are there. The corruption and iraq War complicity of the Berlusconi regime can be added to any revolt against Bush and cause big trouble and a lot of evidence about intelligence fixes.

This is one of a host of failures because the lazy obstinate focus of the Bush regime has been swallowed up in the iraq quagmire. Nothing they have done has been complete or successful, from Argentina, domestic policy to the Middle East and Asia. The only thing they have done is keep abrogating more power and lawless abuses to forge ahead. That they have done successfully because no one has stopped them from plunging onward and down. Yet nothing is really working and they learn nothing from massive sometimes avoidable setbacks that only demanded a modicum of attention and incompetence at the right time instead of massive power and the presumption of the arrogant.

Possession is nine tenths of power and the law. The other tenth is doing something with it to sustain possession. So far, with nothing else working and all the power and law abused, the other tenth must be fear, atrocity and further lawless suppression. It is nearly a pure mathematics and anyone who can rationalize to another conclusion is mad, a blind toady and an eventual victim no one will mourn.
