McCain admits the Iraq War was motivated by U.S. dependence on foreign oil.

At a town hall meeting in Denver Friday morning, McCain was discussing the war in Iraq, and comments about how long the United States will be involved in that region, when he pivoted quickly to energy policy.

"And I just want to promise you this: My friends, I will have an energy policy, that we will be talking about, which will eliminate our dependence on oil from the Middle East," McCain said. "That will prevent us from having ever to send our young men and women into conflict again in the Middle East."

4,000+ dead in Iraq .... for oil. The truth finally comes out.

2. Former Deputy Sec. State, Meghan O'Sullivan now at Kennedy
School, Harvard was on Charlie Rose May 2. While at Whitehouse for
five years, she spent two years on the ground in Iraq. She was
making the case for why we cannot leave.

At the very end, she explained, It will will in our National Interest
strageically to have long term relationship with Iraq. Iraa sits on
the World's 2ond Largest Supply of Oil. When and if Iraqi gets
it together, it will be a Shia Country. Iran is a Shia Country.
To have two Shia Neighbors in control of that Oil Supply can be dangerous
if we do not help the Iraqis. We do not want Iran and Iraz to become
another Syria Lebanon Model and in control of that much oil productionI

May I emphsize this was only one factor. Much more extensive discussion.

4. McSecret's secret energy policy to releave the U.S. from dependancy
...on Southeast Asian oil supplies. Wow...what is that policy I wonder...well here it is...read it and weep as what McThug plans to do is more of the same old reTHUGlicon bullshit! And that goes for all of McSames other proposed policies.

<snip>
SECURING ENERGY AND SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT

America's dependence on foreign oil constitutes a critical strategic vulnerability. America accounts for 25 percent of global demand for oil but possesses less than three percent of the world's proven reserves. Most of the world's known reserves are in the Persian Gulf, in the hands of dictators or nationalized oil companies. Terrorists understand our vulnerability: had it succeeded, the attempted suicide attack on a Saudi refinery in February 2006 would have driven the world price of oil above $150 per barrel. The transfer of American wealth to the Middle East through continued oil purchases helps sustain the conditions under which extremism breeds, and the burning of oil and other fossil fuels spurs global warming, a gathering danger to our planet.

My national energy strategy will amount to a declaration of independence from our reliance on oil sheiks and our vulnerability to their troubled politics. This strategy will include employing technology to achieve new efficiencies in energy extraction and consumption, enforcing conservation, creating market incentives to encourage the development of alternative sources of energy and hybrid vehicles, and expanding sources of renewable energy. I will also greatly increase the use of nuclear power, a zero-emission energy source. Given the proper incentives, our innovators, scientists, entrepreneurs, and workers have the capability to lead the world in achieving energy security; given the stakes, they must.

I have proposed a bipartisan plan in the U.S. Senate to address the problem of climate change and ensure a sustainable future for humankind. My market-based approach will set reasonable caps on emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, provide industries with tradable emissions credits, and create other incentives for the deployment of new and better energy sources and technologies. It is time for America to lead the world in protecting the environment for future generations.

5. 4,000 AMERICAN dead, don't you mean?
Edited on Sat May-03-08 01:46 PM by lilgrasskikka
And that is nothing. No, it really is. More people did every year on the Highways. More people die every MONTH from cigarettes. 4,000 soldiers for oil...? In some people's minds, that's CHEAP.

The death toll of Iraq reaches far deeper that soldiers. Think of all the workers who have been killed, or think of those poor KBR women, left as defenseless prey for they own workmates. And, while you are thinking, think of all the Iraqi civilians who have died! Astronomical...! Literally, it is beyond measure. Can we quantify all that suffering? I can't.

And even that we can countenance. I can close my eyes, and suppress the memory, and trudge on until the guilt and the pain are but dull aches. And I can create, create create... in the hope that the pain might grow away, like regrowing fir trees after a forest fire. For, the history of the world is filled with devastation and disaster: Pandemics, Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Volcanoes, Wars, Famines, Genocides, Chemical Spills, Reactor Meltdowns, Wild Fires, Droughts, Hurricanes and Floods. Always, the world can recover. Always, can the forces of creation become reborn, when the forces of destruction recapitulate.

But.

Hold up.

The War In Iraq stands for the death of something else, more valuable than one person, or even one billion. It is the death of a Dream... a dream so powerful that it has nourished the Republic for over two hundred years. The lawless, amoral war, born in deceit, and from a poverty of soul... has bred lies and licentiousness, and cruelty and wanton slaughter. George Bush has proven he can strut the world's stage with impunity. He can lie and he is not reprimanded. He can bully and he is not questioned. He can violate the law, and he is not punished. He is free to do as he pleases, in violation of every statue and ever code in existence. He can hold the world, and his own people up for sick ransom... and the whole world, and his own people... are more concerned with Reverend Wright, or whether or not Hillary can run a goddamn coffee machine.

Give me a fucking break.

John McCain admitted nothing in this video.

He ADMITTED NOTHING. There was no guilt or sorrow. There was no plan to change. He is not only shoplifting candy bars, he's eating the Snickers right in front of the shopkeeper and going, "mmmm tasty!"
And the shopkeepers are all waving their arms and crowing, "he admitted eating the candy bar! He admitted eating the candy bar!"

Wake up people! This video is not a victory. It's a defeat. He pandered to his audience, and spat contempt to his enemies.

He said, "fuck you, America"...
and until every single one of these murderers is executed or in prison, all America has said is, "at least use lube."

That video is not victory. It's a defeat. It's the oppressor's boot in your face. It's a noogie to the forehead, from a wealthy, greedy heartless old bully. It is one more humiliating assault from a class of people bent on humiliating us all.

Just to review:

Saddam Hussein:
Sanctioned rape, torture and human rights abuses
Broke hundreds of laws
violated his constitution
stood in defiance of the international community
upwards of 800,000 dead due to his policies
= executed

George Bush II:
Sanctioned rape, torture and human rights abuses
broke hundreds of laws
dismantled the constitution
stood in defiance of the international community
upwards of 1,000,000 dead due to his policies
= "impeachment is off the table...?"

Sigh. Tell me again why we should overjoyed that John McCain has boasted about going to stay in Iraq, even though we went there under false pretenses to steal their oil...? I see no reason for joy.

6. Its why they all voted yes for war, they knew what the agenda was...
and they followed it and lied about it. Even the golden boy Edwards knew the agenda and he still gets a free pass from many Americans that don't pay attention to the facts. All of those YES voters sent our soldiers to die and to kill many Iraqis over THEIR agenda for oil, they weren't thinking about the American people, they were thinking about their elite friends and the agenda.

That was one of the main reason I supported Kucinich, he was being honest about the whole situation after the fact and he was speaking out against the illegal war before the others voted YES...they ignored him and then lied to the people and the people ate it up. This is why so many are looked at as sheeple, they cant think for themselves and they just fall inline with their favorite candidate and believe anything they say.

The corrupt aren't ruining our country, its the enabling people who blindly support them that are ruining our country. If people aren't going to pay attention to the facts, they shouldn't be allowed to place a vote that affects the rest of us.
