2. Maybe I'm too tired or too old, but WHY are they outside the WH? |
|
Are they yelling at Shrub to get out? Are theywaiting to throw tomatoes at him? I don't understand?

7. They are simply making a Symbolic point. I would be yelling GTFO! to Shrub whereever he's at. |

Looks like the 17th Street side of the Old Executive Office Building.
Stuff like that only happens when the Redskins win the Super Bowl.
And the mild weather, here and in Chicago? Incredible. T-shirts in Grant Park on a November night? Unheard of.
Great video. Thank you.

6. The same thing happened in downtown Orlando tonight |
|
horns blowing, people cheering and rushing out of the bars and restaurants, music blaring and people dancing in the streets, bus stops and just about everywhere else. I knew Orlando was blue, I just didn't know we were THIS blue! Even the police-parked on every corner- were dancing and clapping!

My old bones just wouldn't let me stay up past 4 am (European time). Although they still hadn't called the election for Obama by then, it was looking as if his win was inevitable ... without some massive election fraud on the part of Republicans. Unfortunately, I remember all too vividly the example of 2000, when they had called PA for Gore and had just moved FL into the Gore column. I had thought it was safe to abandon the watch then and went out of the room for a moment but, by the time I returned, THEY HAD MOVED FL OUT OF GORE'S COLUMN! Thus began the Long Nightmare.
So I was almost afraid to check out the web this morning. I am still tingling. The sheer relief and joy expressed by the people in DC in this video mirror my own.
Thanks to all who worked so long and in such a dedicated manner for this to come to pass! :yourock: :woohoo: :loveya: :toast: :bounce:
But the hardest part is still ahead of us. Yes! We! Can!

I'm over in Germany - been up since 2am!! I was almost asleep but managed to see it all. I remember the nightmares of 2000 and 2004. At least Montana is getting a clue and turning purple!

Hubby & I had MSNBC on all last night & there was a moment after Obama's victory when they showed a small group lining the iron fence at the WH. "Thank you, Mr. President" is what the commentator's interpretation was (the small crowd did look pro-boy king).
I told hubby that the police wouldn't have allowed anti-Bush revelers that close to the fence with tv cameras around.
Now, if MSNBC showed the people in this video celebrating in the streets, I apologize for calling MSNBC out.
