20. Not so much. When they start shouting & interrupting I have to turn it off.
It sounds like there's a fox in the hen house everytime they do that. Nobody can get anything from it. What kind of show is that supposed to be? What mentality does that appeal to? Since you can't even understand what they're saying, it can only appeal to Sarah Palin's fan club. They don't want facts, they just want something to stir their emotions so they can be sure they're not totally without feeling.

36. Buchanan is neither Catholic nor evangelical. He's just phony,
and that clip proves it. He was just playing a role.

Now, please understand, he is probably the first and primary victim of his fraud, but the way he wavered, the way he avoided answering the simple question "Do you believe in evolution?" outright with a simple yes or no showed that he is equivocating.

Pat Buchanan does believe in evolution. Millions of people who believe in evolution, including me, believe that God created heaven and earth -- through evolution. We read the Bible for what it is, the imperfect telling of a wonderful story of God's guiding mankind through history.

No matter what character he plays in public, Pat Buchanan is not a man who reads the Bible line by line on a daily basis and believes to the depth of his soul that every word is the "true" word of God. Pat Buchanan is better educated and more rational than that.

So why does Pat Buchanan lie to viewers on national TV? Why doesn't he want to admit that he views evolution and reads the Bible rationally. It's simple. Because he knows that if he admitted the truth, he would offend the audience of uneducated fools who keep him in bread and butter.

Pat Buchanan is not just obnoxious. He is not just a fool. He is a phony.

12. You rock, Lawrence (Laurence?)! Also, I used to like Mika, but she
has gotten on the Scarborough bandwagon of late and she is as disagreeable as he is.

Seriously though, this points out the serious condition that the Republican party is in these days and by a certain count then-a significant percentage of America. That Pat Buchanan can sit there and say that he doesn't believe in evolution is frightening - that a big chunk of America believes this is staggering. No wonder we are falling fast on the world's educational stage. And what is especially bothersome is that they revel in their ignorance. That Sarah Palin believes that man and dinosaurs were cohabitants of the world is absurd. This would be a good thing for the Democratic party if so many people didn't seem to go along with it. I cannot decide if men, educated men like Pat Buchanan really believe this or if they have just drunk the Kool-aid

21. too bad Mika drank the kool aid on Palin. She can't be rational about it
Edited on Sat Nov-08-08 02:02 AM by Hamlette
she thinks every bad thing they say about Palin is a lie and Palin is a political genius. I never thought she was balance for the show (Joe Scarb) but she has progressively gotten crazier as the weeks go by. On Palin she is out right nuts.

Mika thinks Palin was unfairly treated because of her gender but what happens when you defend an idiot like Palin is that you, play into sexism. People think "Palin is an idiot and women support her even though she is an idiot so maybe all women are idiots."

Mika is MAKING IT WORSE AND PISSING ME OFF.

But Larry was a breath of fresh air. I wish someone would get the numbers right.

McCain NEVER went up 15 points. At most he went up about 7.

Buchanan claims it was the financial crisis that caused the GOP ticket to crater, not Palin but the financial crisis started September 15. By then McCain had lost all that he gained after the convention and it was the Charlie Gibson interview, plus the realization that Palin was a big fat liar (bridge to knowhere,) the media calling out McCain on his lies in the sex education ad which was the first time in history McCain had ever been called on his BS so it was a shocker, McCain went on the View and was called out on his lies and lied some more and McCain was called on saying Obama was rude for the lipstick on a pig comment. THAT is what happened before the financial crisis when his numbers really were going down. He'd basically back to where he started pre Palin when Lehman bros went belly up which was Sept 15, the date and the reason Pat thinks McCain lost the race. From there on, how can you possibly say it wasn't Palin? Coric, $200K wardrobe, calling us not "real Americans" etc, etc, etc.

It was a convention bounce, happens every time. I think the crash was more dramatic than usual because of Palin and McCain's handling of the financial crisis, not the crisis itself.

Buchanan should go the way of Kristol. Discredited forever.

37. yes. She's really become a joke.
Edited on Sat Nov-08-08 11:09 AM by Hamlette
did you see her recently when she commented with a guest about how she, Mika, had done her hair up like Palin. Like she wanted to emulate Palin? To look just like her?

I don't watch Scarborough (would make me too mad) so I've only really seen her lately, when I was so anxious for news about the election this last week I'd watch anyone. So it came as quite a shock to see the daughter of such a dignified and smart man make a complete ditz of herself over another woman.

Maybe she really does just have a crush on Palin, not that there's anything wrong with it.

I can only hope that one day she'll see Palin for what she is and then someone will make her watch her attempts to defend Palin over and over again.

Yes. It's true. I have a very mean, sadistic streak. I fight it but with ppl like Mika and usually lose.

Dang.

23. O'Donnell is correct when he says Republicans worship STUPIDITY!
The Republic party embraces STUPIDITY in every facet.

STUPIDITY that embraces a book of fractured fairy tales
STUPIDITY that worships wealth
STUPIDITY that embraces selfishness
STUPIDITY that gets people to vote against their own self interest.

All the Republic Party has left is STUPIDITY!

39. When Buchanan asked O'Donnell to explain the spike in the McCain's popularity
Edited on Sat Nov-08-08 01:31 PM by bulloney
immediately after Palin was announced as the VP candidate, he should have said it was becuase of her acceptance speech. She was throwing red meat to a friendly captive audience with all of her cutesy rhetoric. The reason she remains popular with some factions of the Republican party is beause these people are primarily men looking at her as a sex kitten.

I don't know how you can see how she handled herself in the debate, interviews and rallies and not think she was in way over her head when she was on the ticket.

If Biden didn't know Africa was a continent; if Biden couldn't name the countries in the NAFTA agreement; if Biden had two high school dropouts for kids, one of which was pregnant out of wedlock, Buchanan and the other conservative pundits would have blasted it over the airwaves 25/8, declared the presidential race over and McCain the winner.

I have to question Buchanan's intelligence if he can still defend Palin after all of this.
