1. Was it he "first man she ever kissed", or more likely, the first man that would kiss her?

2. Why would poppy be considered a "hero"? He was shot down by a kid that learned how to fly by using a stick in a box as a joystick, he abandoned his crew, and from what I can gather, his bombing run that day was a bust.
