Summary: Cenk explains how profits were put over lives (human and otherwise) resulting in a disastrous oil spill. Inside documents show this quite clearly, and you can http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/04/26/big-oil-fought-off-new-sa_n_552575.html|read more here>.

PS---The Guardian wrote an awesome article about TYT that includes which Senator refuses to be interviewed by Cenk again and more!

1. It's the same thing they do in the financial industry.
Maximize profits and milk it until it explodes. Sustainability and the effects on society and the workers are all set aside.

What I wonder is, even in terms of maximizing profits, is this the best strategy or are these corporate shills all sold on deregulation even to their own detriment?

Either way, it's a crime against humanity. People who consciously and deliberately put people's lives in danger and cause their deaths in order to save money or, at least in their opinion, maximize profits, should be in jail. But they just keep getting paid. Unbelievable.

2. Capitalism loves a big boom
Unfortunately, that boom is the leading edge of a shockwave about to capsize your ass.

9. Keep the politics out
Socialist countries such as the Soviet Union have created the worst environmental disasters on record. I would not open that door to make a political add for left wing ideas, because you'll run into a buzz saw. :-)

10. BZZZZZZZZZ
Communist countries that have forgotten their original charter to improve workers' lives i.e., China and the Soviet Union, have created huge environmental problems. Socialists in Scandinavia and Western Europe have been at the forefront of getting environmental laws enacted.

It is important to consider politics, for capitalism sees nothing wrong with a private gain if the environmental expense can be socialized.

Spill here spill now

Just as the Bush administration kept touting how there were no terrorist incidents since 9/11, luck obscured the gambles that were taken by allowing energy companies to operate with voluntary safety measurers

7. Same thing with local real estate practice the past 10+ yrs
(in response to #1) All seems to focus on quickest profit, make a fortune, and get out before you get the 'Old Maid'. The puzzling part is that no one goes to jail. Unless they're a Dem.
