I've spent my whole evening ignoring people. I'm up to 42 now. Slowly the board is getting more pleasant but it seems like the number of rabid Clinton supporters quoting lies about obama keeps growing.
Well I'll keep at it.

My ignore list keeps growing also. It does no good to argue with them. Better to just put them on ignore. You are right. GDP is much better without the vicious irrational attacks on Obama.

2. I'd need to ignore most of them if I got started, too. |
|
It's like they all have some kind of fever or virus. It's all emotion, all the time. They see only what they want to see. Rabid is the word.
As Kerry said, "some people" get frantic.

3. Sad as it is, I just put a former Kerry supporter on ignore. |

I just can't figure out where this person is coming from. Senator Kerry tires to defend Obama from Swift-boat lies and smears and this person calls him classless and doesn't respect him anymore.

that I think/hope s/he will be sorry about later. We all have those at times. Frustration and disappointment too. I am pretty sure I know who and what you are referring to. I do not think s/he truly means it.

I think it is because their candidate didn't make it very far and Kerry didn't stay neutral, and decided to endorse Obama and not Hillary or Edwards. Sad to hear it be said that ______ would have ran and won, and a Dem would be in the WH right now. I really hate all the coulda, woulda, shoulda, hindsight thinking.
I can't wait until the primaries are over. :(

Well it's kind of tough really - I just want to read the articles about Obama - not engage in arguments, so it's better for me this way. I don't like to go into posts that just make me mad.
That's why I wish more would get crossposted here, but at least with ignore, I can get some of them read without reading all the sniping.

I wonder if it's considered acceptable for me to copy an article someone has posted on General Discussion and post it over here as long as I credit the additional poster who initially posted it? It's nice sometimes to be able to have a calm, positive discussion about an article without all the negativity.
As long as I'm wading into general discussion to read it is it acceptable to bring it over here as well if someone else posted the article first - I'm wondering?
I know in the Kerry forum they are often posted two places there and out there in the larger forum - I stay out of the larger forum and just read the Kerry articles in there usually. I wonder if someone from there who's done that knows if it's usually the initial poster putting it both places. I don't want to steal someones post, but also figure if it's just an article they are linking if maybe it's ok to bring it over here.

9. My list grows daily and as my list grows, my blood pressure drops. |
|
:D
My ignore list is filled with what I call "feces flingers." They're the ones who make outrageous claims without backing them up or who tend to post the same irrational response in thread after thread no matter the topic at hand.

Like the candidate, unfortunately. Even Big Orange is getting nasty, especially with the Kennedy endorsement. Well, Bill/Hill brought on themselves by being so graceless and classless over the past month.
I too am starting to avoid GD as well to keep from boiling over.

|
Hillary. :eyes: Sheesh. They're beyond pathetic. I saw one thread earlier tonight when one poster trashed multiple people just because they haven't hopped onto the Clinton bandwagon. The HRC supporters' slogan could be You're either with us or against us. I've never seen such a bunch of whiney cry babies. Sometimes I'm tempted to pass out pacifiers.
It was particularly nauseating tonight with the ignore feature turned off due to high traffic. I finally tuned out of DU and played video games.

I think it happens when the mods lower the level below 2 again.
Now I have to put all of them back on the ignore list.
